Everyone thinks it’s scary going off to college, leaving your best friends behind and going your separate ways. I know this is a hard time. I went through it too. My best friend went off to find new adventures at the University of Kentucky while I went on to Lake Erie College. It was hard being away from her. I knew that I’d have to find some new friends at school (it wasn’t like we were going to see each other every day like we were used to). I’ve met so many new people in college. There are so many things that we’ve done together. However, there was one person who became my best friend. Here are 5 reasons why your best friend from college will become your best friend for life.
1. You do everything together.
All through second semester, she and I would go everywhere together. Whether it was eating, shopping, exploring, walking to classes, being in classes together, we’d always be together. We didn’t mean for it to happen but apparently we’ve become the same person. We go everywhere together and we do everything together. We’ve gotten used to being around each other because we spent every single morning together throughout the semester.
2. You have the same classes.
We realized that we were in the same major, which meant spending even more time together. Thankfully, we both love to spend time in the barn, so we knew that it wouldn’t be an issue. We decided to take our classes together so we can work together, study together, and-most importantly-be there for each other like always. We worked together every single morning in class. We spent countless hours working on projects together because of our classes.
3. You have way too many inside jokes.
There are too many inside jokes for us to count. It’s what makes us such good friends! We always make jokes that absolutely no one understands and we always continue to make many more. We always joke about playing Cards Against Humanity, making hilarious faces at each other, making fun of each other with the different snapchat filters and laughing about "Family Guy." There’s always something to joke about and we always know how to make the other person laugh.
4. You say the same exact things all the time.
No matter what, you and your friend will always say the same thing. It could be about anything! Somebody will be telling a story and we would always respond with the exact same thing. This goes with the inside jokes as well. Whatever we say, it’ll probably be something that we’ve said before. It is usually repetitive when this happens. It happens at the most random times, but it’s always hilarious.
5. You know you are best friends.
We definitely know we’re best friends. We always tell people our story. If any two people had any more in common than we do, they’d definitely know that they are absolutely best friends! We always joke about how we are so similar that we are the same person. Everything that could possibly happen relates back to knowing that we are best friends. Whether it’s saying the same thing as the other person all the time, having tons of inside jokes, taking all of the same classes together, and doing everything together outside of classes, we know that we are, in fact, best friends.
Everyone has one person that they know is their best friend. I just so happened to meet mine in college. You’ll most likely meet this person in college because you’ll be together every day in classes, going to breakfast/lunch/dinner, living in the same dorm, or it’ll even be your roommate. This person will definitely become the best person in your life. Once you find your best friend, make sure you keep them around. Trust me, you’ll need them.
