With the 2016 election coming up, I feel that I should bring up a few reasons why you should consider voting for Donald Trump. I am in no way campaigning for Trump. I am just a student that is not satisfied with how America is currently running under the current administration. So, here are five reasons why I feel Trump should be president.
1. The Wall
Simply put, our borders suck. Did you know that in 2006 Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both voted for the Secure Fence Act? This approved $1.2 billion for a 700-mile-long fence along the U.S-Mexico border. Trump is wanting to do the same thing, except with a wall to make it more difficult for undocumented immigrants to cross the border. Yes, it's true that Mexico is going to pay for it. Trump has an excellent plan, shown here. It has been proven that Mexicans have been wiring money across the border and that money adds up to $24 billion a year. Trump plans to threaten them by saying he will shut down the banks until they decide to build the wall. This shutting down of the banks might sound extreme, but it would absolutely crush the Mexican economy and make their country 10 times worse than it already is. Besides, a country deserves to have its borders and has the same right to keep people who don't belong here out. Mexico has taken advantage of us in other ways as well, such as, gangs, drug traffickers and cartels that have freely exploited our open borders and committed vast numbers of crimes inside the U.S. The United States has born the extraordinary daily cost of this criminal activity, including the cost of trials and incarcerations. Not to mention the even greater human cost.
2. Bernie Sanders
If he is elected, you will definitely "Feel the Bern." Because our economy will go up in flames. For those of you that don't believe that, you can purchase Economics: For Dummies for only $12. This man lived off welfare most of his life and didn't even have a job until he gained a seat in politics. In my opinion, this man is a piece of garbage that thinks everything should be handed to him throughout life. If he really thinks college and healthcare will be free and it will not hurt our budget, the man is definitely living in a fantasy land. According to US News & World Report, Sanders introduced the “College for All Act,” a bill to make four-year and public colleges and universities tuition-free. Sanders said, “In a global economy, when our young people are competing with workers from around the world, we have to have the best-educated workforce possible. That means that we have got to make college affordable.” The idea would cost $70 billion per year, which is more than twice what the federal government spends on Pell grants. You have to look at the fact that much of the money would provide a free education to students who can already afford it as well. Cost aside, it’s obvious that the education system fails to deliver the high-quality educational pathways that many students need to be successful in today’s workforce. A recent Gallup-Lumina Foundation survey found that 80 percent of Americans agree that colleges are changing to “better meet the needs of today’s students.” Only 18 percent of the participants without college degrees felt that college graduates are “well-prepared for success in the workforce.” And only six percent of Americans with degrees strongly agree with the same statement.
3. Hillary Clinton
You really want a crook in office? Here are some examples of what you may hear on the news; Benghazi, stole about $200,000 of furniture from the White House, lied about her grandparents being immigrants, lied about being under sniper fire, l ied about her vote in favor of the Iraq war , lied about her reasons for illegally using her personal email server, lied about where Chelsea (Hillary's daughter) was on 9/11, lied about who she was named after (Sir Edmund Hillary). These are just a few of the many things she has done. Need I go on? These alone are reasons not to vote for her.
4. Taxes
Summing up Donald Trump's Website, Trump wants tax relief for the middle class Americans. In order to achieve the American dream, let people keep more money in their pockets and increase after-tax wages. He also wants to simplify the tax code to reduce headaches that Americans face in preparing their taxes and let everyone keep more of their money. He wants to grow the American economy by discouraging corporate inversions, adding a "YUGE" number of new jobs, and make America globally competitive again. Trumps plan is this, if you are single and earn less than $25,000 or married and jointly earn less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax. All other Americans will get a simpler tax code with four brackets – 0 percent, 10 percent, 20 percent, and 25 percent — instead of the current seven. No business of any size, from a Fortune 500 to a mom and pop shop to a freelancer living job to job, will pay more than 15 percent of their business income in taxes. This lower tax rate makes corporate inversions unnecessary by making America’s tax rate one of the best in the world. Finally, no family will have to pay the death tax. You earned and saved that money for your family, not the government.
5. Trump will Fight for American Businesses and Workers
America has always been a trading nation. Under the Trump administration, trade will hopefully flourish. However, for free trade to bring prosperity to America, it must also be fair trade. America has fully opened its markets to China but China has not done the same. Its Great Wall of Protectionism uses unlawful tariff and non-tariff barriers to keep American companies out of China and to tilt the game in their favor. His plan is a negotiating strategy to bring fairness to our trade with China. The results will be "YUGE" for American businesses and workers. Jobs and factories will stop moving offshore and instead stay here at home. It's predicted that the economy will boom!
