If you are like me, you enjoy a good Pinterest-binge, seeking out all the ways you can improve your life in a few easy steps. After many of these, however, I have chronicaled the five ways Pinterest has us all fooled.
1. Home - Living Space
Your home: house, apartment, bedroom, wherever you lay your head at night is most likely not going to look like what you think Pinterest claims. There is a slim chance, but let's be realistic. That bedroom on Pinterest will remain like a magazine and your mess of a space will try it's best.
2. Womens Fashion - Beauty
It's suppose to give us inspiration for outfits, right? But then you go to your local mall and see nothing that looks like your "dream" outfit, and if you see something you like, you realize that's too much... you're broke.
3. Holidays & Party
It's so cute. Everything on Pinterest is adorable. You want to decorate your Christmas tree the same way, make your boyfriend build a gingerbread house, and sit by a fire and take the perfect Instagram picture just like that Pinterest one. But wait, where's the fire? Or the handsome boyfriend?
4. Health - Fitness
Your goal is to complete the "5 exercises before showering" or you click on the "do this workout routine before going to bed every night" and look like this (a slightly naked woman with a six pack and arms of hulk). Really... thats how that got there? So you'll look like that too, right?
5. Food
Cooking. You need ideas for the perfect healthy meal that is meat free, gluten free, dairy free, calorie free, ect. Ah, you see it, it looks amazing. You prepare, create, work really hard and catch your kitchen on fire or spend way too much, or realize it actually looks awful and taste like cardboard.
