5 Quotes That Prove You Should Not Vote For Donald Trump
timeinc.net

The upcoming presidential election is going to be one for the books. America is ever-changing and growing, which is almost always a positive. We’ve had our first African-American president, and this is only the sixth time in American history that a woman is running for president.

When the general public was asked what qualities they wish to see in our next president, the general consensus was “someone honest who is more motivated by compassion and a desire to create positive change, rather than greed and monetary gain.”

One of the most controversial and well-known candidates in this election, Donald Trump, is none of these things. As much as he’d be able to handle our finances, letting a man like Trump lead America would lead us into chaos. Here are 5 reasons not to vote for Donald Trump:

1. "Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man – he made a good decision.” -Donald Trump

Being president requires a certain level of class. No matter what happened, there’s no reason for Trump to put someone down so rudely. Do we really want such a sexist misogynist running our country?

2. "[I am] calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on" -Donald Trump

There are currently millions of Muslims in our country, and only someone extremely close-minded would blame a whole population because of a few extremists. Not only are statements like this ignorant, but racist.

3. "It's freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming!" -Donald Trump

I can’t even begin to explain how ignorant this is. We need a president who not only addresses the important issues, but actually understands them.

4. “I dealt with Gaddafi. I rented him a piece of land. He paid me more for one night than the land was worth for two years, and then I didn't let him use the land. That's what we should be doing. I don't want to use the word "screwed," but I screwed him. That's what we should be doing.”

Trump completely admitted to “screwing someone.” Presidents have to make countless deals during their term, so why should we vote for someone who we know isn’t going to hold up their end of the deal?

5. "The beauty of me is that I'm very rich." -Donald Trump

Someone like Donald Trump could never even begin to empathize with the majority of America. All Trump knows is private jets and mansions. We need a president who understands the 99% of America that isn’t wealthy and will work to even the playing field.

Donald Trump simply isn’t the right fit for president. He is arrogant, rude, sexist, and far too ignorant to actually make a difference during his term if he were elected. Voting for him as a “joke” isn’t the right way to go either.

Do yourself a favor – read up on the candidates and their plans, educate yourself, and on election day go vote for who you truly believe can make a difference in America.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
