"I can't do this." "I'm too tired." "I'm dying inside." "Maybe I should just give up!"
Do any of these phrases sound familiar to you? Have they come out of the mouths of people you are close to? Better yet, have they come out of your mouth lately? It's okay if they have. Even if you haven't said them, but thought about it recently. It's completely normal to feel worthless at some point in time. Life just wouldn't be what it's meant to be without a bump in the road every now and then. To those of you who struggle daily with depression, anxiety, or any other mental illness that seems difficult for you to bear, this article is for you. Even if you are someone who doesn't necessarily have a diagnosed mental condition, but rather just experiencing a really rough day. Let this article be an inspiration for you to get through more rough days ahead. Here are five important reasons why you should never ever give up.
5. Giving Up is Too Easy
Don't allow yourself to take the easy way out. The easiest way is not always the best way. Giving up on your hopes and dreams may seem like a way of getting some sort of relief from all of your problems. In reality, it is just making a bigger problem for you to deal with on top of everything else that is going wrong. Once you allow yourself to give up on life, it leaves room for doubts and a whole bunch of "what ifs." "What if I hadn't quit?" "What if I had kept going?" "What would have become of me, if only I had persevered?" The answers will never be known, because you'll have absolutely no idea about what could have been. One thing is for sure, you'd be on a much more stable road if only you had let life operate the way it's meant to operate. So what, nothing's going the way you planned? Maybe it's not meant to go your way. Hard times never last forever. Eventually, something is going to work in your favor, and you'll be in awe about how awesome life real is. Don't set yourself up for failure by quitting. Regrets and doubts will only haunt your mind for eternity. Put your best foot forward, and show off the strength that was placed inside of you at birth. Challenge yourself, put your best foot forward, and keep going.
4. You're Supposed to Face Challenges
Life is full of challenges, and no one is immune to the struggles of everyday life. Things happen, and they always happen for a reason. Just because another person has a "perfect" life in your eyes, it doesn't mean everything came easy to them. Search some of the most famous, richest celebrities of all time. I guarantee you'll be surprised at what they had to go through to get to the top. Perfection isn't necessarily perfect. What's seen by everyone else is just an outside display of what a person has. No one is capable of seeing the internal struggles individuals face daily. Everyone hurts at some point in time. The best thing to do about it would be to use the struggle as a lesson for later. Learn something from what you're going through. Why did it happen the way it did? What can I do to prevent it from happening again? If it's something that was beyond your control, think about how you can just let things be. Let go of any unwanted or unneeded stress. Just move on. It's definitely going to be a hard task, and it will take time. As long as you plan on eventually getting back on your feet, take all the time you need. Take the time to build yourself up, so that you can be better and stronger than you were before.
3. Someone Loves You
Despite what you may feel or think, there is someone out there who loves you to pieces. They care deeply for you, and only want the best for you. They're rooting for you! Don't let them down. Of course, your life choices depend solely on you. Just remember that if you have someone who believes in you with so much passion, make sure you give them a reason to continue doing that. Truth is, they might see the abilities within you that you can't see right now. They just want to bring it out of you, and make you come alive. Cherish these types of relationships. They were obviously developed for a reason. Allow them to give you constructive criticism, and trust that they will never steer you wrong. If there was someone or more than one person that came to mind just now, keep them around as much as possible. Don't hurt them by giving up. The amount of love they have for you now is only going to transform into 10 times the amount of pain that they will face if something horrible happens to you. On the contrary, if there's someone or a group of people you have even the slightest doubt about, get rid of them ASAP. Stay away from the relationships that are toxic and not supportive of your well-being. Those types of relationships happen for a reason, but they are not meant to stay forever.
2. It's What Your Haters Want
While you many have one of the strongest support groups filled with loving and caring people, it is important to remember that there are people who are just waiting for you to mess up and fail. Most times, it may not even be for a specific or legitimate reason, but for some reason this person or group of people truly despise you. While it is important to be aware of your surroundings and what people are included in them, it is also vital to not let your haters and enemies stress you out. They will attempt to plot anything and everything against you, and their goal is to see you fail. Don't give them that satisfaction. The more you push forward and make something out of yourself, the lower your enemies will be beneath you. Prove them wrong, and show what you're made of. Give them every reason to fear your motivation and potential.
1. YOU CAN DO IT!
Reason number one, and the most important thing to remember; YOU CAN DO IT! You have all of the strength you'll ever need to make it in this world. It may not seem like it at times, or even right now, but you do. If there wasn't a reason for you to fight towards your success, you wouldn't even be here, and that is something to really think about. Everyone has a purpose in life. It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from. Remember that no one else can receive your rewards and achievements in life but you. Take some time to build yourself back up from your latest fall back, and get back on track. Look at yourself in the mirror and smile each and every single day. Be proud of who you are and what you've accomplished so far. You've made it this far, so don't turn back.
YOU CAN DO IT!
