5 Reasons I Wouldn't Want To Be In "Game Of Thrones"

This is a much shorter list than its opposite

Dragons, giants, knights and Faceless Men are just a few things that make me seriously wish I could participate in the "Game of Thrones." Who doesn't want to live in a time when you could still demand a trial by combat? Honestly, I can't be the only person who still appreciates metallurgy and the awesome weapons that result from the craft.

However, as much as I would love to be a part of George R.R. Martin's fantasy world, there are a few things that would make me a little hesitant to be around while everyone is fighting for the Iron Throne.

1. I probably would not be Highborn.

The "Game of Thrones" is totally a power play. With the measly chances of being born into a noble family, having a shot at the Iron Throne would be that much more difficult. I could still give it my best try. Although, I'd need to be as sly as Littlefinger.

2. I do not want to work in a brothel.

Honestly, who does? With the likelihood of not being in a noble family, as a woman my age, I'd probably be forced to work in a brothel to make a living. No thank you.

3. I believe in marrying for love.

Chivalry is not dead. So help me if I did happen to be Highborn and my family marries me off for power. Hopefully I'll have a grandmother like Olenna Tyrell. Bless her heart.

4. I want my family to be safe.

No one should ever have to go through the way Ramsay Snow tortured Theon. Or the way Roose Bolton betrayed the Starks. Let's also not forget Stannis sacrificing his own daughter, which eventually caused his wife to commit suicide. People will do awful things for the Throne.

5. I shall not cross the Lannisters.

Although I have a soft spot for Jaime and Tyrion, I still imagine that Cersei could probably eat me alive. That woman is savage.

Unless I happen to be born either as Arya Stark, or Daenerys Targaryen, life during the "Game of Thrones" would be pretty scary. But after writing this list, I realized that I actually have more reasons for why I would want to be involved rather than why I wouldn't. I just wonder why George R.R. Martin had to make their world so bloody.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
