There are a lot of celebrities that we idolize and love. We want to keep up with the Kardashian’s, laugh with Jimmy Fallon, be the next Bachelorette, and sing along with Bieber. But, there is one celebrity that takes the cake when being awesome. Not only is this woman funny and clever, she is intelligent, kind, and a genius businesswoman. When it comes to being an amazing celebrity, Ellen DeGeneres is cream of the crop and here are five excellent reasons why:
1. She loves animals.
Ellen is constantly bringing attention to animal rights in the classiest of manners. She advocates for organizations that help and care for animals such as the Halo Pet Foundation. In fact, she is a board member for the foundation. Ellen loves little fur balls and spreads her cause and views through positive, informative conversation.
2. She loves to dance.
There is nothing more fun than shaking your groove thing. Not only is dance a good way to stay in shape, but it releases positive endorphins, something everyone can use. Ellen makes sure her viewers and fans dance every day. She’s not afraid to move and groove and she is one of the biggest supporters of the dance community.
3. She values education.
I am an avid Ellen viewer and I feel like she surprises a student or teacher at least once a week. Not only does Ellen believe in people following their dreams, she supports them. Ellen uses her sponsorships to reward excellent, caring teachers. Teachers, who want to provide for their students, but can’t. Ellen is one of, if not the only celebrity that consistently lets teachers know they are needed, wanted, and appreciated. Ellen also makes sure many students are able to attend schools. She helps kids pay for college, ask her sponsors to supply students with the materials they need to be successful in school, and helps parents in need to provide for their children.
4. She understands the importance of our youth.
Whether she is promoting a young up and coming talent she discovered on YouTube, challenging a young intellectual on their knowledge of the presidents, or sending one of her biggest fans to a dinosaur museum, Ellen promotes the growth of our youth. Ellen knows that the children are the future and she does everything she can to promote and encourage dreams. She also provides for those children who may not be able to reach their dreams because of their health or home life. Just this year, DeGeneres received the People’s Choice Humanitarian Award of $200,000. Instead of keeping the money, she immediately directed the funds to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
5. She encourages kindness.
One of the best things about Ellen DeGeneres is her love of all people. She genuinely cares about everyone. It does not matter who you are or where you come from, Ellen believes you are important. Ellen uses comedy to comment on current issues, but she always takes a serious stance when it comes to the way people treat one another. Ellen not only promotes kindness through her words, but also her actions. She believes in all kinds of love and friendship. She values all living creatures and never loses sight of what she feels important. One of the best things about Ellen DeGeneres is that everyday, no matter what the content of her show is, she ends with a simple statement that makes her one of the greatest celebrities around: “Be kind to one another.”
