1. Home-made food

Of course the biggest satisfaction is sitting down at your kitchen table and eating a big plate of delicious food you or your parents made. Between studying and fooling around with friend, eating good quality food is never high on the list of attainable things on a college students' list of goals. When we're home, we tend to forget why we ever left home to begin with.

2. Sleeping in

Glorious, beautiful sleep! Especially in your nice, big bed at home, sleep is a must when home for the holidays and luckily there's no papers or studying to interrupt the beautiful romance between one's bed and themselves.

3. Making money

The struggle of not spending all the 3 dollars you have on pizza at school is too real, so one perk of being home for a month is making a few bucks. Work isn't the most enjoyable thing in the world, but nothing feels as rewarding than confidently striding into Victoria Secret after getting your paycheck.

4. Seeing friends and family

Reuniting with all your friends and family is easily one of the most underappreciated aspect of winter break. Catching up on school and each other's lives gets more exciting as you get older, as done the excitement of getting them the perfect holiday gift rather than getting excited to receive gifts, a true sign of maturity.

5. Laundry at home

No waiting in line for a machine, no stranger taking your clothes out of the dryer and no gross smelling washers at home. You can rest well knowing your laundry is actually getting clean and knowing no strangers are touching your underwear...ah the little things in life.
