1. Be More Present

There's nothing like going out with your friends and ending upon your phone obsessing about your job or school work or a dead end relationship the whole time - fun, right? This year, put your cell phone down and enjoy the moment. You never know how important it might end up being down the line.

2. Worry Less

This is definitely one that I'm all in for. Some people spent 90% of their time worrying about the "what if's" and what could happen instead of just doing what makes them happy. Sometimes all of the worries are crippling - sometimes it just takes away from moments and things that should be your happiest. Try to worry less in 2018, no matter how hard it'll be.

3. Live A Healthier Lifestyle

No, this doesn't mean working out a ton and goimg on some crazy diets to lose however many pounds. This means more self-love, more confidence, more appreciation for yourself and what your mind and body can do. This is about being healthy in looking in the mirror and at least being okay with the person looking back at you in the mirror, if not starting to love that person.

4. Learn Something New

In 2018, try something new whether it's a new hobby, teaching yourself a new trade or language, taking a class, anything to get a little bit out of your comfort zone and say you expanded your horizons. Better yet, you can learn something new from just the person who sits next to you in class or at work. You never know what great knowledge is hidden around you.

5. Be You

This is the hardest thing anyone can do, especially in a world where we tell everyone to be yourself but then tear you down for doing just that. This year, be a little bit more authentically you. Don't apologize for being goofy, for your "flaws" (that I promise you aren't really flaws), for laughing, crying, smiling, being upset for any reason you feel. Just be you, and be okay with it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
