New Year's Resolutions can be tough, seemingly impossible, to keep. No matter how determined you are, sometimes it doesn't work out. But 2017 will yield success! Here are 5 New Year's Resolutions you can definitely keep.
1. Drink More Water
It can be easy to grab a bottle of Coke or a cup of coffee and head out the door. In 2017, make a vow to drink more water. Your body needs water to survive. The old saying is that you need eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day, but that may not be enough for you, depending on your height and weight. Do some research and get to work! Make this easier by giving yourself some incentive. For example, you could invest in a super cool water bottle to give yourself a little boost. Happy hydrating!
2. Learn a New Word Every Day
You are never too old to learn! Learning one new word every day will improve your brain activity and your vocabulary, not to mention give you impressive conversational skills. There are several apps and games you can use to achieve this. Try searching the Apple app store or Google Play for ideas!
3. Start Flossing
It takes literally 5 minutes, and your oral health will improve dramatically. Plus, no more being scolded by your dentist.
4. Move More
I'm not saying to start doing a crazy out-of-your-league exercise program or running a hundred miles a week. Skip the elevator, take the stairs. Bike to work now and again if you can. Take a little walk on your lunch break. It will improve your health as well as your mood!
5. Disconnect
You don't need to throw away your computer, delete your Facebook, and throw your cellphone out the window. However, take time out of each day to sit and talk with your coworkers, friends, or loved ones face to face. Take that walk. Floss your teeth. Read a book. Do some yoga. Whatever you do, leave the technology turned off and live life in the moment. It will lower your stress levels, and you won't miss it.
Good luck, everyone. Happy New Year!
