Winter Break is so close I can practically taste it and by taste I mean the Christmas cookies, spiked eggnog, and candy canes. There’s much to look forward too after suffering through final projects, exams, and performances but one of the main things is watching Netflix without feeling guilty for ignoring responsibilities. Considering there are oh so many shows to choose from on Netflix it can sometimes be a little overwhelming to know where to begin. So once exams are over sit back, relax, and try one of these shows on for size.
1. "The Office" (US)
If you’re a fan of pranks, paper, and quirky bosses this show is for you. It surrounds a group of office workers who try to find little ways to brighten up their very boring days that are filled with selling paper. It’s a love story, the birthplace of “That’s what she said,” and a must watch.
2. "Parks and Recreation"
Fair warning, you’ll have to blow through the first season before you can really come to love the main characters but I promise you it’ll be worth it. It follows the Parks and Recreation department workers in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. "Parks and Rec" is filled with all of the friends you’ve always wanted. So what are you waiting for? Go grab your remote.
3. "How I Met Your Mother"
How you always wondered how your parents met? Well, this show might cause you to think twice before asking. You’ll watch as one man tells his two children stories from the good old days about when he dated half of New York City. It’s almost impossible to not be sucked into the characters crazy lives and the silly bits they do.
4. "Gilmore Girls"
With the commotion brought on by the recent revival you probably don’t need much convincing for why you should watch this show. But, if you’re sill not persuaded I’ll give you a few more reasons. Pop culture jokes, small towns, coffee, all the junk food you can eat, and strong female characters are exactly what you’ll get with "Gilmore Girls." If you’re home from the holidays grab your mom and binge away.
5. "Shameless" (US)
Enter here a family in complete in total disarray, but each and every member has a heart of gold (for the most part). Set on the Southside of Chicago you’ll watch as one family struggles for money, deals with an estranged father, and comes together make sure they’ll always get by. The Gallagher family will steal your heart, and possibly your wallet, so watch out.
