2015 was a year of great movies. From "Jurassic World", "Star Wars", "Pitch Perfect 2", and "Cinderella", a lot of us caught ourselves in the movie theater numerous times. Brace yourselves because 2016 seems to be even more promising. Here are five movies that I am ecstatic to see in the upcoming year.
1. Finding Dory: June 17, 2016.
This is perhaps the one that I am the most excited for. We all fell in love with this quirky, forgetful little fish in "Finding Nemo", and she definitely stole the show! Dory's sequel is about her finding her family, with the help of Nemo and his dad. Despite the relatively high probability that I'll be the only adult among a hoard of children, I'll be the first in line to see this movie.
2. Dirty Grandpa: January 22, 2016.
Umm...Zac Efron gets shirtless multiple times in this movie. Do I even have to go on? "Dirty Grandpa" looks like a super fun comedy film to watch that makes you want to drop what you're doing and so somewhere warm and ultra-tropical but you have to resort in crying while wrapped up in blankets because the reality is you still have months of school before you can even start thinking about spring break.
3. Moana: November 23, 2016.
Disney is ready to welcome their brand-new Polynesian princess! For us ladies who've grown up watching all of the Disney princess movies, this is huge deal. "Moana" will likely be a strong-willed, powerful princess, much like Rapunzel, Pocahantas, and Mulan.
4. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: November 18, 2016.
OMG, Harry Potter fans! I thought that the Harry Potter movies would end with the seventh movie, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2", but I was wrong. Right here is a movie set in the Harry Potter world in New York City, New York! Though the actual book, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" doesn't really contain an actual plot, the people over at Warner Brothers are actually making this a trilogy.
5. The Conjuring 2: June 10, 2016.
I am a huge fan of horror movies and "The Conjuring" was probably the scariest horror movie that I have seen in recent years. I think that what gives it the extra element of creepiness is the fact that the "demonologists" Ed and Lorraine Warren were actually real people. "The Conjuring" movies are based on their actual case studies — yikes. The next installment in the series is completely unrelated to the first, but it looks like it's going to be just as terrifying. It'll be a great horror movie to watch in the summer.
