Jon D, or SimplySpoons as he's known on YouTube, is one some of you may not have ever heard of. But have no fear. This is why I'm here. I'm here to welcome you to the beautiful world that is Jon.

Jon grew in popularity when he started making One Direction themed sketches, where he was "Harry Styles" and his friend Nikki, who was recording, was "Louis Tomlinson". While these videos are absolutely hysterical, especially if you're a fan of One Direction and the idea of "Larry Stylinson", the videos all of you absolutely have to check out are Jon's covers.

To help get you started, the list below includes five of his best. However, be sure to check out the rest of his YouTube channel that has other wonderful gems. And also check him out on iTunes and Spotify.

Happy listening!

And don't worry. All of these links will open in new tabs so you won't lose your place in the article!

5. "Give Me Something" ("Say Something" and "Give Me Love" Mashup) by A Great Big World and Ed Sheeran

This mashup is just genius, to be honest. Two gorgeous songs are given the honor of being gorgeous together. And shoutout to Nikki on guitar!

4. "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes

An oldie but certainly a goodie. This was one of the first covers of Jon's I ever watched and it's one that hooked me instantly. I hope it does the same for you as it did for me.

3. "All Of The Stars" by Ed Sheeran

If you've either read the book or seen the movie "The Fault In Our Stars", Ed Sheeran's version of this song already brings a tear to your eye. But add Jon into the equation and somehow you get an even more beautiful version. Get ready.

2. "I Love It" by Icona Pop

Another older song you probably forgot you loved, "I Love It" was included on Jon's EP "Mechanical Heart" which also contains original songs that you all definitely need to hear. So go buy it. Right now.

1. "One Dance" by Drake

After an eight month break from YouTube due to major things like jaw surgery, Jon came back with this masterpiece. This is, by far, my all-time favorite cover of his and I think it rightfully deserves the number one spot. Even if you're not necessarily a fan of the original like me (sorry Drake), you will love Jon's slowed down and chilled out version. This is a great song to drive to or to listen to while doing homework. It's simple yet gorgeous.

BONUS

"Cups (When I'm Gone)" by Anna Kendrick

It's not what you're expecting. You're not even ready for this.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
