5 Things To Do This Summer

Over the summer, I start to miss seeing my friends and going to school. I tend wish that summer was shorter so I could go back to seeing all my friends. But over the years, I've started to cure my boredom. Here are 10 things that I like to do when I'm bored during summer break.

1. Get a job

I know that's probably the last thing that anyone wants to do, but in all honesty, it's a great thing overall. You get money, and you can get out of the house for a while. Jobs look really good on resumes, and all that money can help you when you go back to school. You can afford more groceries or be able to do more fun activities with your friends. A job is a great thing to do while over summer break.

2. Arts and crafts

Being in a sorority has definitely sparked my creative side. I love to decorate my dorm room with the crafts that I made, and summer is the perfect time to research and to create the perfect craft. Painting canvases is one of my favorite projects because I can create so many different canvases to decorate with. There are many different arts and crafts that anyone can do: the perfect cure for summer boredom.

3. Spend time with family and old friends

It's always nice to catch up with people you haven't seen in a while, so find old friends that you used to hang out with and have some fun, or take the time to spend it with your family. When you're away at school, you miss your family, so spend time with them while you can.

4. Plan a trip (or a few)

Summer is the perfect time to plan a trip with all your friends and family. Go somewhere you've never been before; it doesn't have to be an expensive trip, just somewhere fun that everyone will enjoy.

5. Relax!

Don't worry about anything — take the summer to enjoy life and not stress about anything. Summer is a time where there is no school, so no worries! Just enjoy the summer while you can. Go tan out by the pool with a nice cool drink and enjoy the warm weather.

Summer is one of my favorite times of the year, and there are only so many free summers that we have until we realize that we have to get real jobs and be adults. Don't be bored over the summer, there is a whole world to explore just waiting for you.

With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.
