The following films were either inspired by true events or coincidentally happened in real life.

1. The Exorcist of Emily Rose: (Horror)

Over 3 films have been inspired by actual exorcisms that have been witnessed mostly in Europe. The first exorcist film was actually inspired by Anneliese Michael. For starters, she grew up depressed and was constantly aggressive with her family members. After several exorcisms and multiple doctor visits, Annaliese died at a young age.

2. "The Fault In Our Stars" (Drama)

"The Fault in our Stars" is about to two cancer patients who fall in love. Hazel Grace, had a cancer that was in her lungs, and her Augustus Waters had a cancer all around his body that caused him to lose a limb. [Spoiler Alert] Sadly, one does not survive and the other is forced to move on. Katie Prager is a real life patient who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis. She's been to the hospital a massive amount of times, and throughout those visits met her now husband Dalton Prager, both have Cystic Fibrosis and to this day, continue to fight the disease.

3. "Psycho" (Thriller)

This was a film that blew up quickly because of its similarities to the real life psycho Ed Gein. In the film, now a TV series known as "Bates Motel," Norman Bates kills several people including his own mother. Ed Gein, was known for killing people and throwing them in the back of his car. In the film, Norman Bates throws his mother in the back of his van to hide the evidence. Both Gein and Bates had the appearance of nice men but were quite manipulating.

4. "Forest Gump" (Comedy)

Forest Gump was a man who all his life had autism. Gump had been through heartbreak, but lived his life to the fullest. In one scene, Forest Gump is rewarded a medal of honor for participating in the Vietnam War by the president at the time, John F. Kennedy. The actor who played Forest Gump, Tom Hanks, was rewarded with a medal by Barack Obama on November 22, 2016.

5. "Snowden" (Crime)

This movie, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt uncovers the crimes behind the U.S.A's government. In the film, Edward Snowden, works for the government and finds some chilling secrets. He decides to leak them to the public causing the FBI to chase him down. He then moves to Russia to hideout. To this day, Snowden remains in Russia. It is said that the U.S government is looking to assassinate.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
