5 Day Makeup Challenge

Time to paint for the gods!

5 Day Makeup Challenge

I decided to do my makeup for five days straight just as a little challenge for myself. The rules are that I can't use the same eyeshadow color twice or any lipstick color twice. Every day has to be a fresh new look regardless if I'm going to work or not. This is just something fun to do, and I would suggest doing this sometime in the year!

Day 1: Sunday Butterfly

OK, so I kinda went all out on this look. I had gotten some new makeup products and just wanted to have some fun while I had some down time before I had to do my homework for my Jan Term. I just did a very light foundation than what I usually wear. (One coat of foundation all over and no contouring). I put concealer under my eyes because I have very dark circles. I'm very bad at feeling out my eyebrows, but I used my Nyx eyebrow liner in the color jet black. To line the wings of the eye, I used Elf liquid liner in jet black and went back in and buffed some black eyeshadow from my Estee Lauder palette (not sure what the palette name is). I lined my top lip to be smaller than my normal lips just to have a little fun. On my lips I used the ultra matte lip from Colourpop Cosmetics in the color lychee. I did a product review on this specific color in my previous article. Again, this was just something fun to do in my spare time.

Day 2: Monday Brown Smokey Eye

This is pretty much what I would be considered my more natural look. I'm not really a natural girl, so this is kinda weird for me. The winged eyeliner is my signature look and just having really filled in eyebrows as well. I used Colourpop's Lippie Stix in the color raezor. It really compliments the brown smokey eye. Didn't do much contouring on this look. When I went out, I didn't feel like I had a cake on my face like I'm used to. I'm overall happy with this look!

Day 3: Tuesday Grunge

I went for a darker tone for this look. I parted my already black hair down the middle. I'm wearing absolutely no foundation whatsoever. No eye shadow either. I used a ton of eyeliner and liquid eyeliner. For my lips, I decided to wear my Dr. M color from Colourpop Cosmetics. This is closer to the style I look for. I am very fond of the stranger colors of makeup; Dr. M is no exception. I felt confident wearing this, and I think I look so cool!

Day 4: On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink

This look is a lot softer. I have on my cake makeup on. I put on a bit of contour and a ton of highlighter on the top of my cheeks. for the lips, I decided to go full on pink. I'm wearing Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lip in the color 1st Base. The eye shadow is actually a white color mixed with grey from my Estee Lauder palette. I put on a ton of concealer under my eyes. This time, I had time to actually fill in my already thick eyebrows and bring them to an arch. Not a lot of people like my kind of eyebrows, buy hey, to each is own.

Day 5: Thursday Doll-like Fantasy

As my final creation, I decided to do everything different. For this look, I am wearing absolutely no foundation whatsoever. I dotted in my eyeliner to give it a more doll-like appearance and decided to put in the most dramatic blue garage door eye shadow ever! For the lips, again, I decided to use Colourpop Cosmetics in the color creeper. I lined my lips to be a little bit smaller than my natural lip line just to give it more of that semi-creepy doll affect.

Final Thoughts

Despite loving to do my makeup, it was kind of hard doing it every day. There are a lot of days where I am feeling my natural appearance or I just plain don't have time to do it. After the third day, putting on makeup just seemed like a chore. But overall, I think I actually did a good job. I'm no makeup guru, but when I want to fell on fleek, you best believe that I will paint a face!

I suggest anybody who is bored and has nothing to do for the weekend to just experiment with makeup. It's like a canvas. You can create anything you want! If you want to wear makeup, then do, and if you don't, then you don't. I probably will do this more in the future. Until then, I'm gonna keep wearing my weird shades of lipsticks and be on my way! Stay beautiful, people.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
