I was raised to spend my money wisely and to think about what I really need when spending it. I have taken that advice to extremes at times, and I've also taken it lightly.
To put it in perspective, I would love a pair of Jack Rogers, but do you know how much more I could get for $120? That's approximately eight t-shirts, five pairs of norts or 120 cups of Oikos Greek Yogurt. #priorities
Then again, I've also decided to save a few bucks (literally) to buy more important things. Here are some of my best (or worst) frugal moments.
- Instead of getting my eyebrows professionally waxed like I always do, last week I decided to pluck them myself. My eyebrows are mirroring the Vanilla Ice look right now.
- This summer was the first time I bought new tennis shoes since my sophomore year of high school. I would just take my mom's hand-me-downs. Tennis shoes are expensive and they were cute, sort of.
- Like every normal college girl, I had to buy a selfie stick. Life was great, until I broke it. I can't multitask. I mean, I can't even talk and do something at the same time. I broke it trying to stretch it out and talk to someone at the same time. Well, I love my selfie stick too much to not have one, but I also don't want to buy a new one. So I fixed it:
Hey, at least I got every sorority t-shirt this past year and I have a pair of norts for every day of the week. How can life get better than that?
