Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it's time to pull out our favorite Christmas movies, snuggle up beside a fire with loved ones and sip on hot cocoa. Christmas time, in the words of Andy Williams, is "the most wonderful time of year" and produces some of the best movies each and every year. Here are a five must-see Christmas movies that are perfect for kids and kids at heart:
1. A Christmas Carol
For any of you “Scrooges” out there this holiday season, this is the perfect movie to get you into the Christmas spirit. Also, this movie is simply a classic and should be watched at least once a year.
2. (The Original) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Lighting the way for imaginations, this classic is must-see for children of all ages and even us college kids and adults. This movie puts you in the Christmas spirit, takes you back a few decades, and reminds you that it’s okay to be a little different.
3. Elf
Let’s face it, we all love Will Ferrell. In Elf, he plays the role of an adopted elf in search of his real father. This movie stresses the importance of family, friendship, and believing in yourself. It is definitely a charming, heartwarming, must-see movie during the Christmas season.
4. The Grinch
Another Christmas classic, “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” is just one of those movies you can’t not watch during the Christmas season. Hands down one of the best children Christmas movies of all time
5. The Santa Clause
“Seeing isn’t believing, believing is seeing.”
One of three “Santa Clause” movies featuring Tim Allen, this movie stresses the importance of believing in something, even if we can't actually see it. A perfect message for the Christmas season.
