When life gives you lemons... you what? Make lemonade right?... But what if you're constantly making the same lemonade over and over again to the point where you just don't feel like making it anymore? Well dearest reader, that is called a "rut" and it's something you NEVER want to stay in.
Ruts are hard to get out of and some people find traveling and being in a new place a great way of doing it. However, that can get very expensive and it takes time away from the life you're living. There are plenty of ways to get out of a rut and not hurt your bank account.
1) A New Hairstyle
This may sound simple and silly but believe me, a new hair style can change your mood real quick and is just the right amount of change to shake up your daily routine. I know for me personally I love chopping all my hair off, it makes me feel like a whole new person!
Although changing your hair CAN be very expensive you can get a quick cut for as little as $11 at Great Clips!
2) Get a Gym Membership
I know, I know... I've talked about Planet Fitness before but I'm telling you that it's the best way to initiate change! Grab a couple of your friends and join for $10 a month, you'll feel better and it gets you out of your house and a new thing for you to do everyday!
3) Go Out for Drinks... or Just to Dance!
If you're anything like me you never go out, but going out while your in a rut can be just what you need! Now I'm not saying go get "lit" but a few drinks and good music can change your mood by 100%.. but don't just go out and watch your friends have fun or agree to DD because they're "making" you, go out and enjoy yourself... You deserve it!
4) Go Shopping
When was the last time you bought yourself a brand new outfit? I don't mean a new shirt that you can wear with your favorite skinny jeans, I mean a head to toe outfit! "But you told me these things weren't going to break my bank!" Don't worry, TJ Maxx and Goodwill have amazing clothes. Just because they aren't brand new doesn't mean they are brand new to YOU! So go, spend a little... then take yourself to dinner! "Treat yo' self"
5) Clean Up Your Social Media
By this I mean delete people who only bring you negativity, block them (if you want) and keep the people who mean something to you. This can be a pretty hard task, but believe me it will make you feel so much better about your life. You really don't need any negativity in your life, that only makes the rut worse... Don't worry about pleasing others, worry about pleasing yourself!
Just remember, you have people who love you and want to see you happy. So as long as you surround yourself with those people and treat yourself like a person you love then you will have a very happy life! So good luck!
