In our ever-hectic and insane lives full of meetings, classes, jobs, internships, and more, I love having role models and inspirational women to look up to that prove that you can do it all and remain successful. Below are my top five girlbosses that I try to emulate through all of life's ups and downs.
1. Emma Watson.
We all know her as Hermione Granger from "Harry Potter," but she proved her girlboss status after launching her HeforShe campaign promoting gender equality in 2014 at the United Nations Headquarters. On top of that, she received a degree from Brown University, works to improve women's education in rural countries, promotes fair trade and organic clothing, AND films amazing movies all at the same time. She will forever be my number-one girlboss.
2. Karlie Kloss.
You may know her as a supermodel and Victoria's Secret Angel, but this girl should also be recognized for her ability to do it all. Starting modeling from an extremely young age, she has managed to stay down to earth and successful over the years. Just recently she started partnered with the Flatiron School and Code.org to provide a scholarship for girls interested in computer science/software engineering. She also started "Karlie's Kookies," baked and sold to benefit the FEED Project. On top of modeling for the likes of Dior and Chanel, she started attending NYU this semester and created her own YouTube channel to connect with her audiences on a deeper level.
3. Cara Delevingne.
4. Kate Middleton.
Kate Middleton is the epitome of sophistication. The Duchess of Cambridge is always dressed to the nines, participates in philanthropic work, and manages to represent the Royal family in the best light possible. You may get annoyed at how much the U.K. obsesses over the royal couple, but how could you not when someone like Kate Middleton exists with so much class?
5. Beyonce.
Would this even be a girlboss article if I didn't include Beyonce on the list? We all know her. We all love her. We all bow down to her. Did you watch her Super Bowl performances? Have you seen her perform live? She just kills it at singing/dancing/performing/life. On top of selling over 118 million records as a solo artist over the span of her 19-year career thus far, she has been involved in countless political and philanthropic efforts over the course of her career.
