During the school year, reading is hard. As college students, our lives are filled with required readings, and all of our free time is spent watching Netflix or sleeping, not reading for fun. Now that it is officially summer, the amount of free time is endless, and your summer reading list can begin to decrease. Here are some books to add to your reading list this summer.

1. "Eleanor & Park"

This book is the classic story of first love. Strange girl meets strange boy and the two bond over strange things, but there is so much more between them. Following these two on their journey through figuring out love and each other is so amazing that putting this book down is difficult.

2. "Yes Please"

Amy Poehler is truly an icon for the millennial generation. Most know her from her character Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, or as Hillary Clinton on Saturday Night Live. But this book goes deep into "Who is Amy Poehler?" This tells the story of the girl behind those characters, and goes into more detail about who she is, where she's from, and how she got started in this industry. If you love Amy Poehler, this is truly a must read.

3. "Me Before You"

With the movie coming out this summer, reading this book is essential. "Me Before You" is about Louisa taking care of wheelchair-bound Will, and their unlikely love story. This will be the love story of the summer, and surely not a book to miss.

4. "Binge"

Tyler Oakley is an incredibly famous YouTube personality, and his autobiography, is an amazing insight to his upbringing and his personal life. This book includes stories of how he got to interview One Direction and Michelle Obama, and first love, but it also contains stories about awkward Grindr hookups and why he's scared of pooping in public. This book will have you laughing your head off, and even if you're not really a fan of Tyler, you will love his story.

5. "The Royal We"

"The Royal We" is basically Will and Kate fanfiction and it's amazing. This book is about Rebecca Porter, who travels to England to study at Oxford and ends up befriending the heir to the throne, Prince Nick. This story of their incredibly difficult journey to be together is incredibly intriguing and altogether amazing, especially if you are as obsessed with the royal family as I am. This amazing story will be seriously difficult to put down, and a great addition to any summer reading list.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
