When the clock strikes midnight after an evening of enjoying the company of friends and family and taking time to be grateful for what we already have, shoppers everywhere flood the streets in order to get the season's best discounts.

Not only does the infamous Black Friday follow a holiday which indirectly celebrates the genocide of the american natives which was generously twisted to represent the foundation of America, it also brings out the worst in bargain hunters across the nation. Door busters like Walmart's famous $100 flat screen TV's and Target's free posters for the first 200 customers have Americans camped out at store fronts hours before they even open. Hey! I guess that's just the logic here in the U. S of A. Missing quality family time to camp overnight in front of Target for a cheap toaster that you could've easily boughten for under $20 on Amazon, but it's FREE so how could you pass that up?

Beyond the faulty logic in this nationwide retail event celebrated by nearly all big businesses nowadays, it really does result in a good amount of violence. Greed changes people and you'd be surprised how many individuals are willing to put their dignity aside and wrestle to the floor over a free toaster. It's awful and shines a terrible light on our country but I won't lie and say I don't partake in this annual shopping extravaganza, in fact, I've gotten into a few Black Friday brawls myself, and even if you don't condone this behavior it's hard not to find it at least slightly hilarious. So in light of the recent "holiday" here are some of it's most outrageous fracas stories in history.

1. The Angsty Senior Citizen

A 62 year-old man set out on a hunt to find his grandson a stereo for Christmas and waited in line for 5 hours just to find out that they were sold out. He left the store in a hurry and raced towards another store close by. He began tailgating a car who was driving "too slow" and when the car refused to speed up he drove up to the car, rolled down his window and flashed a handgun at the woman driver. Luckily, the woman's husband was driving behind her as well and he was an undercover cop so he he took the took the old man straight to jail. Needless to say, gramps' grandson may have been disappointed that year.

2. Three Girls One Tazer

3 Women in Philly became involved in a scandal after one stole an item out of another's cart and they began fighting. It could've ended in just your average argument but nothing says Black Friday like a middle aged lady whipping out a stun gun and using it on the woman she was arguing with. I guess Philadelphia is not where I wanna spend most of my days.

3. Five-Way Fist Fight

5 California ladies also got into a tussle over some merchandise, however, no weapons were involved. These ladies weren't taking it easy though; three women beat the other two ladies with their bare hands to the floor where they were found with cuts and blood on their faces. One of the assailants was found in the store, while the other two got away but were found later on and were taken into custody as well.

4. Parking Lot Knockout

A mother got into a fight with her 3 year old daughter in her arms after another woman tried to steal the last Barbie Dream House she had grabbed off the shelf. The mother had come up on the last one available and told the woman who was trying to take it to back off. After the mother purchased her merchandise and was on her way to the car, the other woman ran over, stole the Barbie Dream House out of the mother's car and when the mother tried to reclaim it her and her three year old were both knocked out and left in the parking lot for a worker to attend to.

5. The Urban Outfitters Stampede

Black Friday stampedes are a common annual occurrence but one stampede in particular was hard to beat. A few years back, at an Urban Outfitters in California a mob of people pushed their way into the store in the most disorganized fashion. Tons of people clumped together pushed their way towards a buy one get one 50% off sale on the most hipster clothes you can find.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
