5 Bible Verses for the Weary

We all get down in the dumps sometimes, don't feel alone.

5 Bible Verses for the Weary
Amelia Thomas

Being human is not easy. We are constantly on the rollercoaster of life just hoping that for once the joyful moments don't end and the moments no one wants to face end faster than they came. We are faced with trials and with other humans who really do not understand what it is like to live your life. We watch the news and we are afraid for our present and even more afraid for our future, but Christ tells us the battle has already been won and we are living a victorious life.

Here are five verses for the afraid, the weary, and the faint hearted to show you how great our God is.

1. Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Isaiah 35:4

We serve such a mighty God. Think about it, God can not make a rock that He can't move. All may not be right in the world right now, but Jesus still died on the cross and rose again three days later. Boom roasted Satan.

2. I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” Jeremiah 31:25

There is a semi-new song out by Zach Williams called "Chain Breaker." This song's chorus says, "If you’ve got pain. He’s a pain taker. If you feel lost. He’s a way maker. If you need freedom or saving. He’s a prison-shaking Savior. If you’ve got chains. He’s a chain breaker." Don't forget that God is everlasting, and that He is the beginning AND the end. He isn't going anywhere, so when you need to rest, find rest in him.

3. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

So the world isn't filled with sunshine and rainbows all the time. People are mean, but that is life. People were mean to Jesus and he didn't pout about it. Again.. boom roasted Satan... you tried.

4. Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

We get old, we get scarred and bruised but it is okay. You know how everyone says it is what is on the inside that really matters? Yea they weren't lying even though I guess they kind of were because in today's society the only thing that really matter is what is on the inside, BUT God doesn't pick and choose off of what we look like. When He sent His Son to die for the whole wide world He wasn't like "alright, man you are only going to save the pretty ones." Christ renews you daily if you let him, so don't freak out.

5. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.Romans 16:20

Jesus coming in for the win! All together now, boom roasted Satan.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
