5 Anime You Need To Watch Right Now

Your Lie In April

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkdi6eK05OA

A story about coming-of-age, romance, and slowly losing the one you love. A boy in high school picks up the piano again to play with a violinist he meets after years of being forced to play by his abusive mother. He goes through the uphill battle of conflicting emotions as the violinist goes through a battle of her own. This anime made me cry...like A LOT. It made me so sad that after I finished it I went and sat down in the shower. Do you know how sad you have to be to sit down in the shower? Anyways, yes this anime will make you sad, but that doesn't take away how absolutely beautiful this anime is. Either the raw emotions that the characters show or the studio's brilliant use of lighting and sound to set each scene. This anime is just too good.

The Rising of the Shield Hero

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZvFEtR8RH0

A young man is cast into a medieval world after discovery a magical book and only has a shield to protect himself and the world he now knows with, despite being isolated and demonized by the city he was called to protect and the other heroes he was supposed to fight alongside with and seeing how cruel the world can really be. Through his struggle, he finds what it truly means to be a hero. This anime was awesome. I loved the message it portrayed that a hero isn't determined by how many evil things they can rid, but by how many people they can protect, even in a world that looks down upon them for doing what's right. Above all else, this anime has some really intense battle scenes and plot twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend.

Charlotte

A boy who has telepathic powers is sent to a boarding school to help his new group of friends stop those with super powers from abusing them so they won't be taken away by the government to be experimented on. This anime had a lot of highs and lows and some very mind-boggling moments, especially during the latter half when there is a major turning point within our main character. This is basically the Matrix of all anime, and even though the ending makes no sense, it's still worth a watch for the time being.

Zombie Land Saga

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIAjeGTc6z4

Let's be real...this anime is just a giant meme. 7 girls are brought back from the dead to start a pop music group in order to create more publicity for their tiny, struggling town in Japan. Each girl is brought back to life from a different period in Japanese history ranging back to the mid-1800s, which makes an amusing series of events as they not only try to perform on stage, but also adjust to modern life, but as I said it's just a big meme. The anime pokes a lot of fun at other girl group animes, for their over-the-topness (which this anime is totally over the top), but doing so in a fun way minus the cringy moments that it may have. It's pretty funny, trust me.

High School of the Dead

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHD2VFyH4KQ

This anime is the perfect cross between being amazing, but also being a giant. A bunch of high schoolers fight their way through hordes of zombies in hopes of finding shelter. A pretty basic storyline that has been explored many times, but the character development in this anime is almost perfect. These kids (and one teacher) come from all different social groups, but when thrown into a world of kill or be killed they are quick to through away the social roles they assumed in high school in order to do what's best for the sake of surviving as a team. Kind of like a Breakfast Club remix with zombies, but like I said this anime does have it's moments of over-the-top scenes and events adding the comedic aspect to it, which for some people can really make or break an anime. For me personally, it really made it special and it is still one of my favorite animes to this day.

Anyways, I hope that you'll take a gander at what each of these animes has to offer. Whether they've had the best reviews or not, they're still pretty well written in my opinion, and I hope you think so as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
