What everyone goes through their senior year of high school, is trying to decipher the advantages and disadvantages of a smaller school vs. a huge university.

While most of us dream of being apart of a large student body with enough students to be considered a town in itself, below are some of the reasons I have come to love my smaller school

1. A sense of family.

We all come back semester after semester again to party, go to class and live around the same people for years.

You’ll go through fights, relationships and friendships with all these people but regardless of what happens you're still stuck around them.

You learn to get passed the bad and enjoy the good, but through everything these people have your back.

2. It's basically a reality TV show at all times.

This could definitely be turned into a disadvantage but most of the time it is pure entertainment.

Considering we all know each other so well, everyone seems to find out each others business within the hour of it happening.

The same people with the same drama can be looked at as boring but in my opinion, it's almost like getting attached to a TV show.

You start to care about what happens in other people's lives just as much as your own.

3. Making Life Decisions

College is full of trying to always make the right decisions when it comes to your future. It makes it so much easier to make these choices when you are surrounded by people who can analyze who you are, as a person.

Being apart of such a small student body you become close with those around you enough for them to help guide you in the right direction.

4. You never feel alone.

Going to a huge school can easily make you feel lost and it becomes hard to find a group of friends that you can depend on.

By going to a smaller school, not only will it be easier to find a close group of friends, everyone around you becomes your close friends.

I know that in any instance that I needed help with something, needed a friend or really just someone to talk to I could call anyone and they would be there for me.

At a smaller school it is impossible to feel alone. People actually care about you here, if anything happens we all come together to support that person and in the end, we share a stronger bond than those who come from a huge student body.

5. A Safe Environment

Considering in a small school you are surrounded by the same people all the time, it creates a safe environment because for the most part you know everyone.

In a bigger school there are higher chances to go missing without a lot of people noticing, come in contact with people you don't know too well or be frightened when walking home alone.

At a small school, we all look out for each other and almost never let each other walk home alone. All in all, it's a close-knit community that gives everyone a sense of safety.

Although everyone goes through the second-guessing phase of if they picked the right school, I have come to love my smaller school. I have found some of the best people here and despite the fact that this school was no one's first choice, we all come to love it in the end. The sense of family, belonging and the never ending stream of events makes for a great college experience.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
