40 Ways Millennials Need To Change

42
You'll Never Believe All The Things Millennials Are Doing Wrong
Jake Michaels, The New York Times

Recently, I saw an article centered on the fact that the millennial generation isn’t buying bars of soap, causing the industry to struggle. I would like to thank the Internet for drawing my attention to this dire situation! I immediately went out and bought 12 packages of bar soap, in order to do my part to correct this situation.

However, this problem is not the only one facing the world due to the actions of troublesome Millennials. As we all know, when the generation before us reached their thirty-fifth birthdays, they all immediately forgot their teenage years. Therefore, it is up to us, and us alone, to save the world.

Below is a list of actual topics I have seen with my own eyes; issues that we are directly causing by living our lives in the millennial fashion. Please, everyone ages 18-34, read the following list, and do your best to change your ways.

1. Not using bar soap

2. Not shopping enough

3. Buying too many gift cards

4. Not having enough sex

5. Preferring experiences

6. Eating too much meat

7. ...not eating enough meat

8. Not saving enough money

9. ...being too cheap

10. Not buying diamonds

11. Taking selfies

12. Using #toomany #hashtags

13. Not getting married

14. Living at home

15. Not using Facebook enough

16. ...using the Internet too much

17. Partying

18. Not partying… politically

19. Being too sad

20. Being too anxious

21. Not buying houses

22. Valuing free time

23. Not wearing bras

24. Destroying the oil industry

25. Not caring about the environment

26. ...Being too concerned about the environment

27. Not being concerned with owning cars

28. Driving too many fuel efficient cars

29. Not providing the government with enough money to fix potholes

30. Not buying enough napkins (this one is almost as important as the soap, you guys!)

31. Not using voicemail

32. Not watching live TV

33. Not eating enough cereal

34. Being skeptical of institutions

35. Shopping online

36. Less vacation time in the workforce

37. Being too fragile

38. Having high self-esteem

39. Being lazy/apathetic/spoiled/narcissistic/ignorant/other adjectives

40. Writing articles protesting being blamed for everything

Obviously, Millennials have made the world a dark place. It was probably due to all those participation medals we got as kids. Good thing the generation before us was so on top of things!

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
