We are finally less than 100 days before our first Texas football game! Football season in the South is everyone’s favorite holiday. You rep your school spirit on nearly everything in your closet, you’ve raided every item from VS PINK's Texas line and you prep your most important item for game day: your squad. All of us have them. We love them and the stereotypical roles they play and the memories they help us create. As it comes to tailgating, there are four primary types:

1.The Mom (aka Coach)

Wakey, wakey eggs and bakey… this squad member is thinking ahead of the game. No need for alarm clocks; with the help of the cheerleader in your squad, this member will make sure no member is left behind! Breakfast will be made (or brunch will be reserved), and a set plan for tailgate hopping will be given a play by play like Coach Strong gives the players.

2. The Life Saver

OMG you forgot your sunnies? Don’t stress! This squad member has all of the game day essentials and more. Sticky bra, check. Sunglasses, check. Face tatts, check. Bandaids for that blister from those cowboy boots, check. Oh, and can’t forget the side purse to hold all of the belongings (mainly IDs) that you know you would lose otherwise!

3. The Cheerleader

This girl will not go to bed until her game day outfit is laid out and ready to wear in the morning (face tattoo included, of course). Get ready to wake up 5 hours prior to kickoff just to get dressed and take a cute pic for insta because this squad member is high spirited for anything and everything Texas!

4. The Chill Pill

“Take your time,” “We’ll only be a few minutes late,” “Missing kickoff is not the end of the world…” If you have heard these words come out of a squad member’s mouth, you have a designated game day member that keeps your crew sane. This girly pop will be sure to release any tension that comes from game day anxiety.

Although each member has their individual ways of getting game-day ready, you wouldn’t have a squad if you didn’t have each other. So take a chill pill, thank your life saver, tell your “mom” what you want for breakfast, and don’t get mad at your cheerleader when she wants to take that millionth fire selfie!

TEXAS FIGHT, am I right?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
