4 Stores That I Love As A Plus Size Woman

While I may love these stores, I think my wallet hates them.

Finding affordable clothes as a plus size woman is hard, but finding retailers that sell them can be harder. It's hard to want to go out and buy or try on clothes when you're unsure of stores that will sell in your size. Here's a list of five of my favorite stores and what I like to buy from them!

1. Old Navy.

I think I love Old Navy more than I love myself at this point (if I'm being totally honest). It's so rare that I walk into a store and find more than a few items that I want to try on, but I can fill up an entire cart at Old Navy. I walk out of that store with several bags full of clothes! (Shopping there is great for my confidence but horrible for my wallet!) It's relatively inexpensive and their clothes wear well so I don't mind spending my money there. They carry both straight sizes and plus sizes, so it's a great place for everyone!

2. Target.

I love everything about Target (especially the dollar section) but one of my favorite things is their clothes. While they carry multiple sizes, some things can be kind of expensive, especially considering that they don't offer a lot of coupons. But they have sales on their jeans and tops a lot! A few weeks ago, they had their jeans 40% off, so naturally I bought three pairs because I have no self control.

3. American Eagle.

I don't know if they have ever advertised their clothes as "plus size," but for my body type, I can generally wear their tops and dress (I've never been adventurous enough to try their pants). Their shirts run a little big on my frame, so I can generally size down and that gives me a little more options. The one near me has carried up to an XXL as far as I know, but I hope they expand more!

4. Forever 21.

I hate myself a little for including this, but Forever 21 in larger cities is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. When I took a trip to Chicago, I raided the plus size section of Forever 21. I didn't realize that mass retailers catered to plus size women until then. It was almost a magical moment for me! *I was apprehensive about including this because the one on the mall near me has the smallest plus size section. But if you live near a large city, I would definitely check it out! But if you're not opposed to ordering online, I would definitely recommend it.

These are some of my favorites, so happy clothes shopping!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
