Working out is very beneficial to your health and to your overall quality of life. Below are a few of the reasons why working out should be near the top of your priority list.

1. Rockin' Body

If you workout, your body will undergo a transformation. Depending on what workouts you do, the transformation can either be bulking up, defining your muscles, or losing fat. If you want to have a huge, muscular body you can. If you want to have a slim, shredded body, you can. If you want to just be skinny, you can. When it comes to working out, you have the power to decide how your body will be shaped through your workouts.

2. Confidence

This goes hand in hand with the rockin' body. If you set a goal for your body image and you reach that goal, your confidence soars. You just feel better and more comfortable in your skin. You'll begin to attract attention from people based on your body which just continually boosts your confidence. People may compliment you on your physique, further adding to your ego. Confidence is a great benefit because it can affect all aspects of your life. Your dating life may suddenly come alive if it wasn't already, you may begin to play sports with your friends like you used to when you were a kid, you may even try a new hobby that you weren't able to before, and you'll be confident the entire time you do it.

3. Health Benefits

This should go without saying, but working out is good for you. Your mobility and flexibility improve, along with your sense of proprioception and your ability to move your body precisely and accurately with ease. Aside from that, there are many other benefits such as improved blood pressure, ease of breathe even when in arduous situations, increased stamina and endurance, lowered heart rate, etc etc. Your body can continually reap the benefits of a good workout, so make sure to get yourself to the gym in order to stay out of the doctor's office!

4. Hobbies

Any hobbies you have or have wanted to try that are dependent on the physical shape you are in will dramatically change. You may have been average at basketball while you were out of shape, but now that you've trained your body, your performance will improve drastically. Any hobby you were previously unable to try is now available to you. Not only that, but if you are in great physical shape, picking up new hobbies is rather simple. Why? Because you don't have to go through the conditioning phase. When I tried out MMA a few years ago, I immediately was a step ahead of all the other people trying for the first time because I was in great shape. Whenever we had days where we would do conditioning, I wouldn't really even be out of breath because the conditioning was a step below my usual workout. This made picking up martial arts much easier. The same goes for all hobbies and activities that require a conditioning phase.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
