Everyone goes through those stages in college where they just feel lost. Usually, we have no idea why, but it still happens, and it sucks. For me, when I begin to feel this way I go to my favorite places and find some really good and uplifting books or YouTubers! These are some of my favorite people to read and listen to when I just am looking for some extra motivation and positivity in life. These books and vloggers have helped tons of people, so if you're ever feeling lost, here's some good places to find pick me ups to help you out.
1. Marissa Lace
Marissa is a lifestyle and beauty vlogger on YouTube. She talks about a range of topics covering fitness, food, relationships, beauty and fashion. Her biggest project right now though is focusing on herself. She created the tagline “Year of You” to inspire her subscribers and herself to remember to put yourself first. She makes daily, and yearly goals and tries her hardest to be positive each day. She's a real human, and shows on her vlogs that she has hard days and struggles just like everyone else, and it shows her viewers that no one is perfect. She's just here to remind us that we can get through our struggles because we will just come out stronger.
Here are some of my favorites from her series so far:
2. Mod Sun’s "Did I Ever Wake Up"
This has to be one of my favorite books to this day. I picked this book up after hearing about it from the next YouTuber I’m going to write about, Meghan. This book is all about “how to make your life a dream.” Mod Sun writes about positivity and lessons you can use everyday like the law of attraction and how to deal with negativity that faces you. This book will make you laugh, cry and feel all of some types of ways, but it's definitely worth the read, and I recommended to anyone who is feeling like they need some guidance and inspiration.
3. Meghan Hughes
This girl is probably one of the funnest and positive people I’ve watched so far on YouTube. She makes all types of videos as well, but is most known for her love of Mod Sun and positivity. She has videos ranging from “How to be positive” and “Pizza Talk” videos where she has guests come on, they share a pizza and talk about tons of topics from mediation, to school and life advice. Overall, she's the bomb and makes you feel like you and her have been best friends forever.
4. Sophia Amoruso's "Girl Boss"
This book is so good. Like literally so good. After I read this book I was so motivated and filled with girl power! I recommend it to all girls (or guys) who need a push to follow your goals. This book is all about how one of the fastest growing online and in store clothing retailers ever came to be. Sophia tells her story of how she became the owner and creator of Nasty Gal, an awesome clothing store that started off on eBay and exploded. She speaks of her dedication, hard work and entrepreneurial skills that got her where she is today, and tells all her secrets of how to be a #GirlBoss. Pick this book up if you want a laugh plus tons of advice and motivation to get you going after your dreams no matter how big they might be.
