More times than not do we find ourselves complaining, whining, and being ungrateful. I understand this is our humanistic way, but why when we have so many reasons to be thankful. Thanksgiving is awesome, because it is one day we can stuff our belly's full and no one can say anything about it. Not only is food a huge plus on Thanksgiving, but it's a day to reflect on things we are thankful for. Time and time again, I've been told that we shouldn't be thankful on just one day, but every day. In the world we live in today, there are endless amounts of reasons to be thankful.
I hope everyone has the chance to go home this holiday season to visit with their family and friends, and catch up on all the good times and the bad this past year. Also a time of laughter and memories to get you buy for the next holiday. My Thanksgiving was spent with my loved ones, but not all of them. It was a weekend of crazy mad house shoppers, but don't you just love the perks of working Black Friday. Why is Black Friday even a thing? l'd much rather spend that time at home with my family than out shopping nearly killing people over a TV or video game. That is why there is a thing called Cyber Monday, people.
One of the things I'm thankful for is my education, although I take advantage of going to school for free. I'm lucky to even have that available, some people all over the world don't have any type of education. Friendship would be a huge reason to be thankful, not only do I have some of the coolest friends, but they are always there for me. I'm thankful for my job, not only does it help me financially but it helps me understand the real world a little bit more and grow my work ethic on a daily basis. Faith, I'm thankful for the freedom to be able to worship my Savior Jesus Christ, when there are people over seas that are killed for practicing Christianity. Of course I save the last for best with family, and mine is the best! Not only do they make you want to pull your hair, but they also just make you want to hug a little bit longer before the goodbyes.
In the midst of this article, I hope you feel happy and thankful of the time spent with loved ones this past Thursday. Don't get caught up in the stress of buying presents and the traveling details, spend that extra time with the ones around you rather than it be chaotic. Let's be truthful, is it really worth the hassle? This world takes so many beautiful people on a day to day basis, and I feel like not enough people take advantage of the time they have with their family and friends. Also remember that the holidays are about giving not receiving, so give a little extra. Maybe go the extra mile to do something nice, and it may be to a complete stranger. I'm thankful for many things, but not just on Thanksgiving. Will you choose to be thankful every day of the year?
