Remembering how to relax after a rough week

32 Ways to De-Stress After the Worst Week Ever

Tell me if this sounds familiar: you’ve been back in school for a few weeks, the semester is starting to kick into high gear, you’ve moved past the introductory assignments, your motivation is declining, and suddenly you find yourself facing a week with 3 midterms, 2 quizzes, a paper, and a group project. By some miracle, you make it through the week but come Friday afternoon, you feel like death. The weekend is a welcome relief, but how do you de-stress from a week from hell? Here’s the best list I could come up with of ways to relax when you really need to:

1. Sleep (seriously, you need it, just do it).

2. Eat a proper meal and no, ramen doesn’t count.

3. Take a long, hot shower.

4. Keep the theme and full out pamper yourself, deep condition and exfoliate.

5. Do your nails.

6. Clean or organize your space, it’s not super fun but it’ll clear your head.

7. Cuddle up in the coziest sweatpants and blankets you own.

8. Watch all of the movies.

9. Watch a movie you can sing along to.

10. Watch a movie you know every single line to.

11. Watch a movie that makes you feel good.

12. Watch a movie that makes you cry.

13. Watch a movie you’ve been dying to see.

14. Finish your current Netflix binge.

15. Make some comfort food that fills and warms you up.

16. Drink something other than coffee and let your body detox a little.

17. If you simply can’t decaffeinate yet, drink some tea.

18. Wear a blanket cape for a whole day.

19. Bake some yummy treat like brownies.

20. Dance like an idiot to a jamming playlist.

21. Find the nearest fuzzy animal to cuddle.

22. Draw/color/paint/generally be creative.

23. Go for a run or go to the gym, get those endorphins pumping.

24. Go for a quiet walk, even if that includes Pokemon GO.

25. Read a book that doesn’t have a glossary.

26. Treat yourself to something yummy, ice cream anyone?

27. Put on your best outfit and strut your stuff, even if it’s to Target.

28. Treat yourself at Target, to something you can actually afford of course, like socks.

29. Go on an online shopping spree (even if it ends in adding your cart contents to your Christmas list).

30. Catch up on all your shows and Youtubers.

31. Take another nap.

32. Get ahead on any homework that doesn’t sicken you, you’ll thank yourself later.

Don’t let the stress get to you, we all have rough weeks but now it can only get better!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
