32 Potential New Year's Resolutions

The new year is a time when people, for whatever reason, take to introspection, looking to decide whether or not the moments of the past 365 days have been worthwhile.

And of course, with that sense of reflection comes a desire to push forward, to make the most of the upcoming 366 (that's right, it's a Leap Year!) and do something great not only for oneself but also for the world.

But a lot of times, people find that the goals they've set simply aren't feasible; going to the gym once a week turns into once a month and trying to eat healthy becomes shoveling a superfluous amount of potato chips into their mouths. This never-ending cycle of drastic goal-setting eventually points toward one thing: setting a new goal for the next year to do the same thing they couldn't succeed at this year.

So, here are 32 potential New Year's resolutions that you may actually be able to complete:

1. Go on Facebook a little less.

2. Introduce yourself to someone new.

3. Remind yourself of something exciting everyday.

4. Be kinder to others.

5. Search for the positive in life.

6. Take a second to notice something little.

7. Help a stranger.

8. Call your loved ones more regularly.

9. Get to know someone you don't know that well.

10. Forgive somebody.

11. Forgive yourself more readily.

12. Listen to more music.

13. Take a risk.

14. Create a memory jar.

15. Compliment someone every day.

16. Let yourself go a little wild.

17. Have fun!

18. Find something you're passionate about.

19. Learn something new every day.

20. Get more involved in something you love.

21. Spend more time in the library.

22. Spend less time in the library.

23. Expand your vocabulary.

24. Complete a coloring book.

25. Focus more on the present than on the future or the past.

26. Treat yourself.

27. Channel potential stresses into something productive.

28. Conquer a fear.

29. Do your personal best.

30. Express your gratitude and appreciation for someone.

31. Start a diary.

32. Make the most of your year!

Here's hoping 2016 is filled with joy, excitement, and laughter!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
