Winter is upon us, and there are so many things to love and hate about it. Maybe even a little bit of both. Here are just some of those reasons.

Hate Winter

1. Runny nose... ever enough kleenex

2. Getting out of the bed when it's freezing is terrible

3. Same for the shower

4. Getting sick becomes easier and worse

5. Forget about going to the beach

6. Rain in the winter is torture

7. When you have a really necessary itch that needs to be scratched but you have to take off countless layers to reach it. So you start agonizing about how you're going to get to that spot.

8. When the sun (if it even appeared that day) goes down and you want to go straight to bed. And you question why you live in a place where it's pitch black outside by the time it's happy hour. I like my sun, thank you.

9. It looks like a great day outside only to forget what season it was when you walk outside, aka freezing.

10. Falling becomes easier, and it's utterly embarrassing.

11. You don't get to wear your favorite shorts or tanks as much.

12. Running or doing anything that relates to physical activities absolutely sucks.

13. Driving becomes, a lot more dangerous.

14. Lack of sun usually equals worse mood, which equals lack of motivation, which... you get the picture.

Love Winter

15. Hot chocolate. There is no other way to describe it then, delicious.

16. Christmas lights, decoration that is bound to capture your attention

17. Snowboarding/Skiing, clearly the best of the winter sports.

18. Christmas movies, so many cheesy classics that just about everyone loves.

19. Christmas in general, as the song says, "It's the most wonderful time of the year"

20. You can never put on too much clothing in the winter

21. Getting to wear all your furry, poofy, striped colorful and favorite jackets. No matter how ridiculous they may look.

22. Boots season, break em all out.

23. Dirty Santa is always fun.

24. Traditions, no matter how weird or lame they are, gotta love them.

25. Candy Canes, winter's favorite treat

26. Good food, and profusely shoving it in my mouth

27. Hanging out with family, ya gotta love them

28. NO SCHOOL, finally a break for the moment

Both

29. Cuddle season - If you have an animal or loved one you probably like it. If not, you most likely don't.

30. Christmas music - Some people like year around, some people the week before, and some people don't like it at all

31. Egg nog Love it or hate it, it's the drink of winter

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
