The Wandering Wanderlust

Packing for vacation can be one stressful event. There is so much you need to bring and it's easy to forget something important if you don't pack strategically. Making a list of what you need always helps, but there is always the chance you'll forget something to put something on that list, too. Here are some thoughts that everyone has while packing for a trip:

1. I honesty don't even know where to begin

2. Maybe if I clean my room it'll be easier to pack

3. Ha good one, we all know that one isn't going to happen

4. [Looking at list.] what am I forgetting to put on here?

5. All right, lets do this sh*t, but first I need music

6. [Scrolls through Spotify for 20 minutes trying to find a perfect packing playlist.] [Ends up choosing the same playlist you listen to every day anyways.]

7. So I will be there for seven days so that means I need at least 15 shirts, right? You know, just in case I spill something, options are always good to have.

8. How am I only going to pick 15 T-shirts to bring when I own four million and love them all?!

9. Can I bring all my sorority tanks and tee's, or will I look too basic? Screw it, I'm bringing them all

10. I should probably bring some dresses in case we go somewhere nice... and I need options, so I'll bring five

11. I need these strapy sandals for this dress, but these match better with the other dress, and the brown one's go well will that dress, so obviously I just have to bring them all.

12. Maybe I'll bring some workout clothes, in case I want to go for a early morning run on the beach (we all know it will never happen, but still say it might).

13. How many pairs of shorts do I need? Might as well bring them all, never know with shorts.

14. I'll need some books to read... how many do I normally read in a trip, maybe three, tops? I'll bring five, just in case

15. This is so boring

16. I've got to make sure I remember to pack all my cute travel-sized hair products I bought today

17. Bathing suits... I'll bring them all. Never know when one is going to be wet right?!

18. How the heck am I going to survive in a 13 hour car ride?

19. Books, movies, coloring books, DS I haven't touched since the 5th grade. Check, check, check, check.

20. Let's see about jewelry now, I need to accessorize, of course... I'll just bring it all

21. Crap, how is this all going to fit in my suitcase?

22. I'll just have to bring multiple bags, it'll be fine, it's not like we are flying!

23. I'm going to want to make sure I remember to bring a pillow and blanket for the car, even though I probably won't sleep anyways

24. Sunglasses, yes, that is what I was forgetting! Those are a MUST

25. I'll just bring multiple kinds of medicine, just in case.

26. This trip is going to be so fun

27. Dang it, I still feel like I'm forgetting something

28. Oh well, it can't be that important hopefully

29. [Stares at huge pile in middle of room]

30. Yeah, this really isn't going to fit in one bag.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
