If you're anything like me, packing is a hassle. I can barely pack for an overnight trip to a friend's house, let alone pack up my entire life and move it back home.
Even though I haven't moved out yet, I'm pretty certain about what's going to be running through my mind on that day. It's going to be stressful, emotional, and exhausting. I'm so thankful to have such a bittersweet feeling about moving out because that only means my freshman year was as phenomenal as I'd hoped. So, as you pack up and say goodbye to your campus for the summer, know we're all going through this bittersweet time together. Here's 23 thoughts college students have while moving out:
1. Do I have to leave?
2. I can't wait to get home and lay in my bed for 48 hours straight.
3. Why do I have so much stuff?
4. How did I manage to get all of this here...
5. When was the last time I vacuumed?
6. So, do I bring home all of this leftover food or eat it all now?
7. I wonder if my parents will notice if I smuggle all of my friends home.
8. Or if my friends decide to smuggle me home with them.
9. Why is it so hot on this hall?!
10. I could really benefit from lifting some weights.
11. Praying that my hallmates are fully clothed while my parents are here.
12. Man, this empty dorm room looks like a jail cell.
13. No, seriously, why do I have so much stuff?!
14. I hope I can sleep on the car ride home, this is exhausting.
15. Wait, I don't want to say goodbye to this jail cell.
16. I'm going to feel naked without my room key and school ID on me at all times.
17. But that also means all-you-can-eat fridge access.
18. Probably should have solidified that summer job.
19. What the heck do I do with all of these textbooks?
20. I cannot wait to see my dog. (Or cat. Or fish.)
21. That mattress topper was a life saver but, man, is it heavy.
22. Oh, hey! I thought I lost that shirt.
23. I wonder who's going to live here next year.
Happy packing, everyone!
