As the holiday season begins to come to a close, the dread of returning to school starts to settle in. We just got done with school and it just doesn't seem fair that we already have to prepare to go back. Before you begin to start hating your life again, just remember there are a million things that are actually worse than starting a new semester, and here's just a few:
1. Stepping in something wet with socks on.
2. McDonald's getting rid of their dollar menu.
3. People who don't use their blinker before turning.
4. Craving Chick-fil-A on a Sunday.
5. Being the designated driver amongst your drunk friends.
6. People who talk during movies.
7. Getting the "data overage" text weeks before the new cycle starts.
8. Being stuck in traffic when you really have to pee.
9. Accidentally liking someone's Instagram post from 78 weeks ago.
10. "Parks and Recreation" being over.
11. Couples that still make-out in the hall in college.
12. People who play their music out loud instead of using headphones.
13. Teaching your grandparents how to use an iPhone.
14. The series finale of "How I Met Your Mother."
15. That friend that documents his or her every move on their Snapchat story.
16. People who think "The Big Bang Theory" is funny.
17. Uber drivers who hold small talk the whole time by talking about themselves.
18. Realizing you're going to have to do all the work in a group project.
19. Cumulative final exams.
20. Finishing a Netflix series you've been binge watching.
21. Sneezing while driving on the interstate.
22. Being the third wheel amongst your couple friends.
23. Going to work with a hangover.
24. Sexting the wrong person.
25. Accidentally reading spoilers about your favorite show on Facebook.
26. Running into people from high school every time you leave the house.
27. Being the first friend to arrive somewhere.
28. Having to defrost your frozen windshield when you're already running late.
29. Trying something new at your favorite restaurant and hating it.
30. Donald Trump as a legitimate presidential candidate.
If this list doesn't make going back to school look a little better, I don't know what will. At the very least, remember that your first week back will be a syllabus week anyway. Here's hoping that RateMyProfessor was good to you this semester and that Snowpocolypse returns for some time off.
