30 Things I Do That Bring Me Joy in Life

1. Sleeping in on a Saturday after a long week of school.

2. Burrowing under the covers when it's cold outside.

3. Sitting at the window and watching the rain fall.

4. Driving around aimlessly just to clear my mind.

5. Spending time with my old friends.

6. Staying home when I need a mental health day.

7. Watching Netflix late at night.

8. Eating warm and spicy food on a cold winter night.

9. Playing my marching euphonium during band competitions.

10. Sleeping on the bus ride home from band competitions.

11. Checking my grades and finding out that I've gotten a better grade on a test than I thought I would.

12. Going to bed early when I've had a long day.

13. Texting someone all day.

14. Maintaining a Snapstreak with a girl who lives an ocean away.

15. Brushing my hair after waking up in the morning.

16. Napping during a lazy afternoon.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.
