It's no surprise that when you and your best bud have been friends for 10 years (I can't believe it's been that long) your parents and siblings treat your BFF like they're a part of the family (which they practically are). In light of all of the years you and bestie have been friends, here are 30 signs they have become a part of your family.
1. They don't even knock before walking in your front door.
2. Your parents go food shopping just to fill the cabinets for when your BFF comes over, and they fill it with all of the things they're not allowed to have at their house.
3. It's not even a question if they're staying for dinner.
4. Your best friend sleeps on a specific side of your bed when they sleep over, and they have to have that side of the bed every time they do sleep over.
5. Your own mother refers to your best friend as one of her children.
6. They refer to your mother as "other mother."
7. They often hang out in your room or in your house even when you're not there.
8. Your parents invite them on all of the family vacations.
9. They often help out with cleaning the dishes, taking out the trash and walking your dog.
10. They often are the first people to get invited to your family functions.
11. Your family pet favorites them over you, when they come over.
12. They sometimes get scolded by your parents for doing mischievous things.
13. They get gifts during Christmas from all of your family members.
14. They sometimes get in the middle of family fights.
15. Your parents are also more than comfortable arguing in front of them.
16. They get all of your hand-me-down clothes before your little cousins do.
17. They leave clothes lying around your bedroom to make it twice as messy as it was before.
18. When their parents were getting on their nerves, your house was the first place they went to.
19. Your parents don't care if they sleep over every single day of the week.
20. They have a toothbrush at your house for when they sleep over.
21. They drive to your house every morning, and you guys carpool to school together.
22. Your mom gets worried if they haven't come around in a day or two.
23. You've had to endure a seriously awkward question about your sexuality from certain extended family members because you guys are always together.
24. They are a part of your family's group text messages.
25. They refer to your mom as the "cool Mom."
26. They call your parents by their first names on a day-to-day basis.
27. They text your parents without even feeling weird about it.
28. They know where everything in your kitchen is, and goes.
29. When they're sick, your parents go out of their way to bring them whatever they may need.
30. They're in on all of the family inside jokes.
After all, where would your family be without your best friend as the extra sibling?
