Calling All Lazy Girls: 3 Simple Steps For A Perfect 5 Minute Face
Inspiring Women

My sister, Leanne, is a diva. I love her to death, but the girl has invested so much money into her hair and makeup supplies that she could put any celebrity to shame. And while I sometimes envy her patience and determination to never leave the house without a flawless perfect face of makeup, that's just not a reality I can live up to!

So, if you're looking for a new fast makeup routine, check out my 3 easy steps to the perfect five minute face that I use every day. You can find most of the products I use at your local CVS, Walgreens, or Ulta, but I have included some online links just in case you want to buy from your couch as well!

Step 1: Wash and Moisturize

It may seem tedious, but having a good wash and moisturizing routine is the cornerstone of any good five minute face routine because it keeps your face healthy and blemish free, which makes the next steps fifteen million times easier! If you're looking for a good combination, I love the Simple line of products. My skin isn't sensitive, per say, but I do feel that the less you give your face to react to, the better and healthier your clean is! I personally use Simple® 6 oz. Foaming Facial Cleanser and Simple Replenishing Rich Facial Moisturizer 4.2 oz but the line has other variations on these that you can chose from, depending on your skin type. I have normal to dry skin, personally, and I find these products work perfectly.

Step 2: Cover and Conceal

Being that I'm in a rush (or just don't have the desire to sit and apply real foundation), I always grab for my favorite BB cream, Dream Fresh BB 8-In-1 Beauty Balm Skin Perfector. Not only does it contain SPF 30, which helps prevent wrinkles and other signs of aging in the long term, I find the coverage superior to any other BB cream I've tried. It's not so heavy that my skin can't breathe or I look like I've airbrushed, but covers enough that any pesky red spots I have are not seen. If you're like me and you have particularly dark circles, I also reach from my concealer, Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand, to dab away those pesky black reminders of my constant lack of sleep. The key to this step is to apply the under eye concealer AFTER the BB cream so you don't wipe it away in the process. Also dab (I use my finger) and don't wipe under your eyes - this also tends to take away more product than anything else.

Step 3: Highlight the Assets - Eyes, Cheeks, Lips

I'm not super into eyeliner, so I just usually put on two layers of mascara and go. I'm always looking around for new and better mascaras, but my old faithful is Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. Next, I move to my cheeks, where I usually put on either bronzer or blush (sometimes both, even though you're not technically supposed to do that. For bronzer, I swear by Benefit Cosmetics' Hoola Matte Bronzer, and for blush, it's their CORALista Coral Blush all the way. Personally, I'm fair skinned with light features (blue eyes and blonde hair), so I encourage you to find your own personal favs if these don't work with your complexion. Last is lips, for which I mostly use Burt's Bees chapsticks, with their Pink Grapefruit Cause Lip Balm being my go to. I find their formula works the best while giving me that hint of shine that says "I tried this morning."

So there you have it! 3 steps, 7 products, and you're ready to take over the world! Hope this helps all you lazy chicks out there like me!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
