3 Signs You're the Grandma Friend
Jokes of the Day

I used to think I was more of the mom friend, but recently, I've looked a little deeper at the things I do for my friends, did some analyzing, reflecting. And well... I'm not the mom friend, but something slightly different: the grandma friend. Now, of course, the mom friend and the grandma friend are related (pun completely intended), but the grandma friend does a few things differently from the mom friend.

1. We don't like going out.

When friends suggest going out over the weekend, I internally groan. I had such great plans of staying in, watching Netflix, eating food, and sleeping. On the weekend, that is my typical plan of attack. A few days ago, my roomie was trying to pick out what to wear. I said, "you know what I would do if I was going out?" and she replied, "You wouldn't." She knows me too well. Going out means staying out so late and I love getting to sleep.

2. When our friends are upset, our first reaction is to offer them food, especially cookies.

If my friend is said, they food I have on me I offer it immediately without thinking about it. Or I'll offer to get them food, especially ice cream or cookies (which is exactly what my grandma does whenever we hang out with her). I'm not sure why I do this, but it's always the first thing I do. I'll even bake cookies for my friends when I know they've been having a round day. Food is the pathway to the heart and when your heart is broken, I'll fix it with food.

3. We don't understand technology.

Technology hates me and often I don't quite understand. I've had so many times where I accidentally hit so many buttons. Other times, I just can't get the whosiewhatsit to work while everyone around me is making the computer or app to do magical things. I am also always so amazed when someone shows me something I didn't even know existed. I'm in shock and get so excited and make them show me slowly how to do whatever they just did.

Being the grandma friend is an interesting experience; we love our friends a little different and provide some amusement for them too through our ways. We watch out for you and always think your the best, wonderful, smartest, prettiest person in the whole wide world. We're your grandma friends and we'll always be here for you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
