Appreciate the people in your life, whether it's your parents, siblings, guardians, step-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, significant others, friends, professors or even strangers. The people in your life play a very important role.
They are in your life so you can learn new things, make new memories and even pull out your hair at times.
1. Memories that last a lifetime
There are good memories and there are not so great memories, but no matter what you will always have something to reflect on. I have plenty of memories with my family, new friends and old friends. Even if I do not talk to the people any more, I will always appreciate them because at that moment they meant the world to me. Most importantly, if someone you loved passed away your memories with them will live on. Cherish your memories because they can turn into some amazing stories.
2. Many, many lessons
So many lessons can be learned from the people in your life. Your parents or guardians are the biggest influence. They can teach you how to cook, clean, manners, how to treat your peers, and so much more. I am lucky enough to have learned so much from my parents and I am still learning. When it comes to my other family members, I learn how to open up and just be myself.
I’ve learned that my family will always be here for me even if we are thousands of miles away or just around the block. I’ve learned that even though I don't see my friends every day, or talk to them every day, I know that if I needed someone to talk to or eat junk food with they would be there in a heartbeat. When we grow up, our lives get busy with school, work, partners, families and other engagements. We have to find time for those who matter even if it’s once a month.
Old friends have taught me to always lend an ear when needed and to always be aware. Ex’s taught me that love is real, communication is key and never give someone more than two chances. Partners teach us to laugh, smile, cry and to trust one another. Be grateful for these lessons because without them you wouldn't be the wise person you are today.
3. Life Is Short
We have all lost people in our lives who have meant the world to us. Appreciate the people you have in your life because tomorrow is never promised. Be appreciative to have met those wonderful souls and live to make them happy.
Make sure everyone you encounter knows how grateful and happy you are to have them in your life. Life is a beautiful chaotic mess; appreciate the good and the bad. The bad ends eventually and makes the good feel so wonderful. Appreciate the tears because something so passionate and beautiful made them roll down your cheeks. Appreciate the smiles because we are all beautiful in our own way.
Remember to thank everyone in your life, even if you don't speak to them everyday. It's important to know who cares and always remember you have a huge impact on someone's life.
