If you are anyone like myself then you are always on the hunt for some opportunity to make some quick money. I am not talking about anything illegal here, just some ways to earn money without committing to a full-time or even a part-time work schedule. With college and extracurricular activities outside of school, I barely have time to get a decent amount of sleep, let alone a full job. Also, often times jobs have very rigid time schedules that sometimes interfere with our academic responsibilities. So, for anyone who is like me and is always interested in diving into new opportunities, making some money for food and transportation, and likes to be their own boss, I have gathered a quick list of ways to make money without sacrificing your academics and social life.
1. Fiverr
One great website that I discovered a little over a year ago, Fiverr, is a great website that makes it great for absolutely anyone with a little bit of time and ideally a small hobby or talent to make some money. In no way will you become a millionaire, but it is a great way to make some money quickly, depending on how easy the task or product you are selling is to make and how in demand your service or product is.
Basically, here you can charge small $5-$1000 for your product or service for buyers who are interested. What is great about this website is that there are plenty of buyers who are interested in having small tasks accomplished for them perhaps due to lack of expertise in that field or due to lack of time to perform that task themselves. Say someone creates a brand and needs a logo created, but doesn’t have the time or the knowledge in this field, he or she would look for this service on Fiverr and see who’s available. If you happen to be a graphic designer you can easily charge $5+ for logo designs, for example, and depending on their level of complexity and customization you can charge more.
2. YouTube
If you love helping others, entertaining people, or sharing your advice, YouTube is a great platform to use to make money. Despite its incredible popularity over the past few years, many people still do not know that YouTubers can make money posting their videos by applying to monetize their videos. You will be paid based on multiple different criteria, one being based on your number of views and interactions your videos receive. The videos do have to follow YouTube’s guidelines in order to be accepted into the monetization program, but that still leaves you with endless opportunities to earn money from doing and sharing with people what you love.
If you love to make things, you can post tutorials on do it yourself projects for others to see. If you love fashion, you can share look books with your viewers. If you love technology, you can review the latest gadgets. The point is that there are virtually endless opportunities for the types of videos you can share with others. What is great about YouTube is that you truly do not have to put in too many expenses to start. You can start with a simple webcam or film using your cell phone camera, which everyone virtually has. Even if you are camera shy, you can film videos that don’t require you to show your face.
