Summer is right around the corner. Shorts, sun dresses, swim suits, and crop tops are filling shelves at every mall. Work outs, meal plans, all while maintaining your busy schedules! Not to worry because I’ve got two thirds of it covered for you. Keep reading for three easy healthy food options, which take minutes to prepare! You’ll be on your way to your summer bod in no time!
LETTUCE WRAPS
Lettuce wraps are extremely easy to put together and only take up five minutes of preparation time. Not only are they simple and time-friendly, they are delicious! A lot of people worry that eating healthy means they lose out on a delicious lifestyle. You don’t have to worry when it comes to lettuce wraps because they never disappoint! Wrap some turkey, ham, or chicken in giant lettuce leaves paired with your favorite sauces and you're ready to go with calories to spare. There are hundreds of combinations that can be whipped together when it comes to lettuce wraps, but I have included my personal favorite below.
Lettuce Wrap Recipe:
-2 butter lettuce leaves
-Spread pesto on both lettuce leaves
-Add 1 1/2 pieces of turkey to each lettuce leaf
-Add chopped sun dried tomatoes to both lettuce leaves
-WRAP IT UP AND ENJOY!
YOGURT WITH A TWIST
This yummy treat is perfect for healthy eating on the go! Make sure you are indulging in fat-free or sugar-free yogurt, greek yogurt, for example. Spicing up your yogurt with a few toppings is a fun way to curb cravings for fro-yo or ice cream, plus it's so tasty, with healthy toppings, of course! Add honey, coconut, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, nuts, etc. and your lingering hunger will be wiped away with a smile! My personal favorite yogurt combination is listed below:
Yogurt Recipe:
-Activia vanilla yogurt
-Strawberries
-Blueberries
-Honey
-DO A LITTLE DANCE BECAUSE IT’S TOO GOOD!
TRAIL MIX…MAKE YOUR OWN
Most trail mix that you find in stores are filled with fat, sugar, and sodium. For all you trail mix lovers out there like myself who are looking to live a healthy lifestyle, I have good news. You can make your own tasty and healthy version! Make sure to include raw nuts in your trail mix and avoid any chocolate or candy like m&m’s. Like the two healthy options I mentioned above, have fun and be creative when creating your trail mix. Experiment with different nuts and dried fruits. You’re bound to come across a mixture that you can’t live without and can’t even be found in stores because it’s completely unique to you. Below is my personal favorite trail mix combination:
Trail Mix Recipe:
-Raw almonds
-Raw walnuts
-Raisins
-SHAKE, SHAKE, SHAKE AND EAT UP!
