The days are getting shorter, and colder, but our stomachs are getting hungrier.

With Thanksgiving only a few days away, the last of your worries should be that you don't have enough cranberries for the party, or you forgot to make a pecan pie. Whether you're hosting Thanksgiving, or maybe celebrating Friends-giving. Here are # delicious Thanksgiving foods (with links to recipes) to make you shine at the Thanksgiving table of your unbelievable overnight (or couple of days) Thanksgiving Dinner.

Main Course:

1. Turkey

Some cook it in the oven, but there's others who deep fry their turkey. If you have turkey left over the next day you can make a salad with it.

2. Turkey Stuffing

I'm not a fan of stuffing, but then again the only stuffing I ever tried had pecans in it.

2a. Turkey Mushroom Gravy Sauce

3. Ham

The best part of Thanksgiving Dinner, in my opinion, is the warm hickory ham.

Sides:

4. Cranberries (sauce)

Warm Sweet and Bitter Cranberries Jellied or whole berries.

5. Sweet Potatoes Fries

Sweet Potato Casserole, Sweet Potato Slices, but my favorite is Sweet Potato Fries.

6. Mashed Potatoes

7. Baby Potatoes

Don't forget the gravy

8. Green Beans

9. Carrots

My mom's classic special recipe includes regular sugar and melted butter

10. Mac N' Cheese

11. Brussel Sprouts With Pecans

12. Yams

13. Pearl Onions

14. Biscuits and Gravy

15. Cauliflower

16. Pumpkin Soup

17. Squash Soup

18. Corn

19. Roasted Vegetables

(basically every other vegetable not mentioned above)

Desserts:

What would thanksgiving be without desserts, even though we are probably full from the side and main course dishes

20. Pumpkin Pie

21. Pecan Pie

22. Apple Pie

23. Sweet Potato Pie

24. Snickerdoodle Cheesecake

25. Chocolate Bark

26. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

27. Apple and Strawberry Crumble Cake

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
