25 Things All Single People Can Relate To

They say summer is the season of love. Romantic getaways, long walks on the beach, and late night bonfires all set the mood for young and old lovers alike. However, this 'season of love' is not filled with a lot of romance for the 124.6 million American adults who are single. So, for all the single folk who may feel a little isolated amidst the throngs of couples, here are 25 things all single people can relate to.

1. You feel like “Where’s Waldo” in a sea of couples.

2. Every time you see a couple, you involuntarily gag.

3. You know what it feels like to third, fifth, or even eleventh wheel.

4. Your friends and family constantly remind you that you're single.

“Can’t I set you up with this young man I met the other day? He was just the nicest boy. Oh sure, he just got out of jail... but beggars can’t be choosers, and you aren’t getting any younger honey.”

5. You’re pretty sure you’re going to die alone and have your body eaten by cats, and you’re starting to accept that.

6. In fact, you've already begun naming all your cats.

7. People say you just haven't met the right guy yet, but you're beginning to think he was hit by a bus.

8. You constantly ask your friends to set you up, but when they suggest someone you immediately veto the idea.

9. People say you’re too picky to ever date.

10. But you’re secretly glad you are, because relationships seem like too much work.

11. And you know that ultimately there are better things in life than love, like food.

12. Sometimes you feel too unlovable to ever date.

13. But most of the time, you’re too busy partying it up with your other single friends to care.

14. Then, you feel betrayed the moment your friends get in relationships.

How dare they leave you alone??

15. You compare yourself to certain people who are in relationships and think secretly, “wait but I’m way prettier/smarter/etc than her…how’d she do it?”

16. You haven’t dated in so long, you don’t know how to flirt.

17. Every time you see a guy, you briefly think, “Is he the one?” Then he opens his mouth and you’re like:

18. You constantly struggle between looking cute and looking like a hobo.

Is it more important to impress random cute strangers who you know you'll never talk to or be comfortable?

19. Plus ones seem like a slap in the face.

Thank you for reminding me that I have no one in my life.

20. You get random bouts of loneliness.

21. You're constantly amazed at how people meet people and 'just know' that person is the one.

22. It seems like everyone is always going on dates except for you.

23. But when they talk about their relationships and guy problems, they never seem happy.

24. At night, you're celebrating the fact that you can wear whatever you want, eat whatever you want, and do whatever you want.

25. And you know in the end you'll find someone somewhere if that's what you really want. So you better enjoy it while it lasts.

Even though it can be tough at times, make sure you relish the single life you have. Connect with friends, travel, learn, and live. Life is so much more than one relationship, so make sure you're living your single life to the fullest!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
