Tis the season!...consumer season that is. This time of the year, retail stores experience double the amount of customers as usual as people buy Christmas gifts for friends and loved ones. This means added hours and much more work for all the retail employees. In my four years of retail experience, I've learned that there are customers that will be great and others that will make you want to pull your hair out and quit on the spot. Retail employees experience these struggles year-round, but especially during this month, so this season, let's try to be considerate consumers and treat retail employees with respect!
Here are some struggles retail employees will relate to:
1. Spending 45 minutes refolding a table only to have a customer destroy it in 8.4 seconds.
18. Or even worse, when they decide to tell you their entire life story.
19. Black Friday.
AKA the worst day of your life.
20. People blaming you for them misreading or misunderstanding signs.
It's not "false advertising," I know the smaller print is harder to read, I didn't design the signs.
21. Finding items randomly throughout the store.
22. Finding yourself folding at other stores.
Wait... this isn't my store...
23. When a customer asks how something looks and it does NOT look good...
24. When someone somehow mistakes the fitting room for a bathroom.
You cringe, but this kind of sh** actually happens you guys...
