San Diego Comic Con and Anime Expo—treasure troves for nerds and geeks of all kinds. Whether it's comics, cartoons, anime, gaming, TV, or something else that tickles your dorky fancy, these conventions sure are the places to go.
Since its founding in 1970, SDCC has continued to grow each year, drawing in crowds of over 130,000 people in recent years, with AX gathering a respectable 80,000. Among those in attendance are a very special and dedicated group of fans, one that I have been a member of for multiple conventions in the past—the cosplayers.
Cosplayers have that special knack for bringing even the wildest and most bizarre of characters through the fourth wall and right into the convention halls. No matter the circumstance, cosplayers are sure to weather it all—be it rain on your full body paint, wearing an enormous wig in 90-degree weather, or some other hellish situation. For that, cosplayers are dear to the heart of every nerd for bringing all of our favorite comic, anime, manga, video game, and television characters to life right before our eyes. In homage of that, I've compiled a list (in no particular order) of some of the most absolutely amazing, fantastic, terrific, jaw-dropping cosplays from two of the biggest conventions in the world: SDCC and AX2015!
1. While fewer Guardians of the Galaxy cosplayers showed up to SDCC this year, Groot is a timeless favorite.
2. This gorgeous Black Widow and Scout Trooper are about to take a mid-con coffee break!

6. The Frozen cosplayers were out in full force, and this Anna is one of the best!
