Graphic design is one of those things that everybody sees, yet many don’t notice. But as a graphic design student, you can look at a simple poster, sign or label and can only imagine how many hours of manpower rest between images. Here are 24 things all graphic design majors can agree with—ESPECIALLY our hate of Comic Sans:
1. You’re number one fear is your computer crashing and losing everything.
2. And you cringe when you see people
not saving their projects on an external hard drive.
3. You have a teacher that has taught you more than all of your other professors combined.
4. And you would kiss the ground they walk on if it were socially acceptable.
5. You will low key fight someone who thinks Apple is better than PC.
6. You have spent many a night in your campus’s computer lab.
7. And have done some crazy/questionable things after hours.
8. You have a student squad that are your supporters, confidants and critics.
9. And the majority of messages you send are about what to do when you've hit a wall.
10. Once learned about the glory of Helvetica, you saw it everywhere.
11. You sometimes just download fonts for fun.
12. And you also agree that finding the font that finally brings a project together is nearly orgasmic.
13. The overuse of Comics Sans puts you on your deathbed.
14. And the price of purchasing the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite nearly put you in an early grave.15. Your appreciation for good packaging has increased hundredfold.
16. And GREAT packaging will stop you dead in your tracks.
17. You mostly buy magazines for their layout and design inspiration.
18. And you kinda feel like an
annoying hipster when your art and design tastes are a tad more “advanced” than
the average Joe.
19. But sometimes you just have to speak up when someone uses Papyrus or Brush Script.
20. You most likely have a high affinity for stationary.
21. And have a few brands that you would travel to the ends of the earth for.
22. You follow graphic designers on social media the way others follow the Kardashian clan.
23. You revel in how big and badass your portfolio
has gotten since your Freshman year.
