Thanks to pop culture, New Jersey has fallen in and out of assumptions and stereotypes— which most definitely is not a good look, we know. We get an undeserved bad reputation which is totally barbaric because we're top notch and beautiful, inside and out. I can even pinky promise you this for extra assurance. We are fabulous as much as we are fierce.

From 4 a.m. diner trips to shamelessly singing 'Livin' on a Prayer' at the top of our lungs— to mastering the exits on the parkway and being able to convince you what good pizza is— there's no doubt you found yourself a one-of-a-kind type of gal.

Here's 24 reasons why Jersey girls are unlike any other:

1. They're always down for venturing.

Whether it's during the day or during the night— or if it's a few miles away or 500, you can always count on her to be down to do something spontaneous. She'll be the best sidekick.

2. She has A1 confidence.

In the words of Fabolous: Often imitated, never duplicated.

3. She knows how to love her haters.

We've heard all the names, the disses and stereotypes— ask us how much it bothers us and we'll laugh because no, it doesn't and you're irrelevant.

4. Built with great pride.

Being from New Jersey, you've learned to live a semi fast-paced life being from the Tri-State area. Some people might think that's crappy but it's equipped us as the ultimate go-getter, with some major influence watching our parents over the years.

5. We apparently have our own way of "talking" but do we actually?

You say tomato, I say tomato. It might not always be as direct but if you trigger us enough our "accent" MIGHT shine through— it's kind of a perfect combination of "valley girl" and Rocky Balboa.

6. She'll always keep it real with you.

Even if you don't want hear it or be reminded of some type of flaw or situation, she'll definitely bring it up without any fear of the potential outcome.

7. Your friends will actually like her and will probably question why you two aren't dating yet, if not already.

It's honestly hard to not like Jersey girls once you allow yourself to open up to them and look past the stereotypre. She's a keeper and she knows it— and knows you do too before you finally realize what's right in front of you.

8. She'll be sure to spontaneously take you to unique spots.

New Jersey has so many hidden gem-like places and she would love nothing more than to take you to them— regardless the reason behind why she's taking you.

9. She'll always be extra flirty with you.

It's just in her being to be flirty, but when it comes to you she'll always show you why she cares. You won't be able to help yourself but fall for her more, just saying.

10. Frank Sinatra, The Four Seasons, The Boss, Bon Jovi and Whitney Houston.

New Jersey has brought the music scene some of the most iconic artists— and she will undoubtedly sing their music religiously whether in the shower or in public. It's likely that she will brag about them pretty regularly, too.

11. Speaking of Bruce....

"Nothing matters in the whole wide world when you're in love with a Jersey girl."

12. She's been called aggressive, cutthroat or savage at least five times... on a monthly basis.

This wouldn't offend us in any way, shape or form— but it might boost our ego up a bit, instead. HA. Who are we kidding? It will.

13. If looks could kill— she won't let you or anyone cross her.

I mean, if you bring it out you'll immediately see the combination of a switchblade attitude and snake bite heart.

14. But no matter what her smile will get you every single time.

Let's be honest— you can tell a lot about someone just by glancing at their smile. Hers is completely contagious.

15. She's an expert at finding steals on concert and game tickets.

It doesn't matter the time of the year or if it's for a concert or game, she's pretty much a professional at finding tickets with steal prices regardless the venue— whether in New Jersey, New York or Philly.

16. She's not afraid to bring out her goofy side or embarrass herself.

OK— sh*t happens, but at least we rock it. It will definitely leave a long-lasting impression but we won't really care.

17. We get nostalgic about our summers spent at the Jersey Shore.

All those amateur and reckless nights on the boardwalk, ugh. Nothing will ever beat those memories made since as long as we can legitimately remember. It would bring us so much joy to show you what the Jersey Shore is all about— aka Monmouth and Ocean County, NJ.

18. We even existed before "Jersey Shore" on MTV, which is only like 2% of Seaside Heights, by the way.

Yes, I've seen the Situation. Yes, I know all the references. Yes, there are guidos/guidettes down the shore— but NO, not everyone from New Jersey is like this. And yes, in case you're wondering... I legitimately live a town over from Snooki and have even seen her at the grocery store and gym. She's pretty normal.

19. She's unapologetically sarcastic and sassy— but in a good way.

You'll learn to love it and even question if something is wrong if she isn't acting this way. Odds are you'll probably throw it right back at her which she'll love/hate.

20. Her bluntness will have you dying.

It might be crude, it might be true, it might be jaw-dropping— but it will be said.

21. It probably won't be towards you but if the situation appropriately calls for one, you'll witness an epic and non-hesitant right hook.

Whether you want to admit it or not, you will likely be turned on by this after thinking to yourself, "DAMNNNNNNNNN!"

22. She's all about unpretentious good times yet she will naturally be the looked at as the center of attention.

Her bubbly and *loud* presence will capture the eyes of many. You'll soon pick up on the fact that she lights up the room anywhere she goes and doesn't even try to.

23. She knows of all the fun bars and pubs in different parts of the state.

Always ready for a good time, she'll know all the low-key and hottest spots and the best times to go.

24. "You can take the girl out of Jersey, but not the Jersey out of the girl."

Jersey girls are one a kind and will never forget their roots of where they came from. It doesn't matter if she's from North, Central or South— this state is a big part of who she is. No matter where life will take her, she'll always bring a piece of home with her.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
